Cute but... I am in 7th grade and I bought this bag thinking that I can use it as a backpack. It is very small. Even with the zipper that makes it bigger open, I can't even fit my binder (I only hold papers in my binder). Although, I found a use for this bag, since we can't carry backpacks during the day, I use this bag to hold my tech case, chapter book and my very small French binder. I would not recommend this for a backpack for a middle schooler! October 6, 2013
Great Backpack for School! I purchased this product in the pattern Plum Petals. I love it! The colors are so vibrant and they look really great. It has a pocket on the back that you could put your iPod or cell phone in. The main pocket is very roomy. I put my binder in it. On the bottom of the bag there is a zipper, which you can unzip to make the main pocket bigger. When you open the flap, there is a zipper, and you can store many things in it: sticky notes, pencil, pens, gum, hand sanitizer, and much more. The magnetic flap stays closed. They material is very nice. I recommend this product! January 26, 2013
Love this for school This is our 2nd school bag out of this material & I love it! My daughter carried her 1st one for 2 years & it still looks practically new, but since I promise new school bags every 2 years, I had to keep that promise. We also had issues with the straps, but a needle & thread fixed that! I hope they continue making bags out of this material. I find it holds up better than the quilted bags,(which we've also had). I also have the lunch bag in this & it has been great as well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the strap issue, which wasn't a problem in the backpack style,(same material) we had before. October 2, 2012
Nearly Perfect! I love this mid-sized messenger bag. Fits oversized books, small laptop and/or iPad. Convenient front pouch for pens/pencils etc. that can be accessed easily. Nice easy adjustable strap that can be adjusted while worn. However, the adjustable part of the strap can get twisted around easily. To me, a minor issue and easy to straighten. I was originally concerned about the material begin fragile... I am happy to find it is quite durable and very nice to the touch and look. I love that its design is clean enough to use for work yet pretty enough to be feminine. I would buy another one without hesitation! March 22, 2012
Great for school or work, but I bought this in the Plum Petals. It's pretty and I get lots of compliments. Good for those days when I need more than my little purse but don't want the backpack look. I love the material, it's just about as good as plastic gets. It doesn't feel like leather, but it feels brushed or something, very nice. I love THE hands-free STYLE, which is the main reason I bought it. But the strap is awkward and clunky. The strap likes to get tangled, as other reviewers have noted, detracting both from the comfort and the look. I'm still giving it a 4 for the sophisticated, career-oriented appearance for those of us who need lots of space but still need to look relatively professional. December 27, 2011
The strape does not stay tight! Although my 8 year old loves this I wouldn't purchase it again. The strap will not stay tight and as the weight in the bag increases the longer the shoulder strape gets! I had to safety pin in it in place. November 6, 2011
love it BUT... I bought this bag a couple of months ago, while traveling to carry my Macbook Air and purse essentials. It serves that basic function well. Especially useful is the expandable big pocket, and the waterproof fabric. And OMG, it is sooo cute. The only problem is that the strap is REALLY badly constructed. It is always twisted, and tangled, making it hard to adjust on the fly. I honestly wouldn't care if the way in which it twisted didn't detract so much from the look. I won't probably won't buy another functional piece from Vera Bradley. October 24, 2011
AWESOME! Bought this for my rising 4th grader. It is wonderful. Very room, seems will be very easy to care for. We got the messengers last year in collection and were so sorry they were discontinued. They held up better than ANY school backpack we have ever bought! My daughter cannot wait to use it! Only thing noted was the straps may slip longer since they are that slick fabric. Super!!!
