Bring back the little backpack!
I have used Vera Bradley for 7 years and I have loved it. A couple years ago I fell in love with the little backpack a couple years ago, it was the perfect purse, it was able to fit everything i needed in it, and more, and distributed the weight evenly on my back and reduced the back pain I have. This is the only purse I will use. Now, you retire it for this backpack which is far to big to use as a purse, it looks like I am going to school and as a college graduate I do not want that. I do not care if you keep this one, but bring back the little backpack or you will lose a loyal costumer!

I got this backpack in African Violet. I am a college student that does mostly distance learning classes so it is great to keep my school stuff in. I am able to fit a binder, two spiral notebooks, three text books, and a brush and pencil case with my writing utensils in it. I was going to use the front flap pocket to put my iPad 2 with a VB case in. Wrong. My iPad will fit in the pocket, but the flap will not close. Since that didn't work, I tried to fit it in the slip pocket behind the flap pocket, but it isn't wide enough. I wish they would of tested the pockets with all iPads to make sure they would fit, especially in one of their own cases. That is the only reason I gave this backpack four stars. Otherwise, I would recommend this backpack to anyone.

cute, but not quite ultimate
I just got this backpack today. While it is roomier on the base of the bag, it tapers up pretty slender at the top. This makes the side pockets to small to carry a water bottle in.I don't know why the designers at Vera Bradley didn't take this into consideration. The old backpack will fit a regular size water bottle, and the style before that didn't. 'It would be perfect if I could carry my water bottle on the outside instead of on the inside of my bag (makes sense). I think many reviewers will feel the same way. Otherwise, it has lots of pockets on the outside and a zipper pocket inside. Maybe by the next backpack revision they will get it right.
