Great, for EVERY DAY I take the train and the bus to work. SIZE ..... I carry this bag many times as an everyday bag. I find it is large enough to put a small purse, cosmetic bag, flat shoes, lunch, and any documents or items I bring home from work. It is light weight and easy to carry, I often bring items home from work and it just looks like a larger tote it is not specific to travel and I didn't look like "wow, she is carrying luggage". ,,POCKETS..... It has a zipper on the outside plus two pockets, inside it has several pockets and is deep and roomy. If you have to carry a kindle, or small laptop this is a good bag, I was able to put a lot of things, and when taking public transportation I feel it is better to carry less bags which is better for ones safety. Great Hospital/Beach/Kid Stuff/Teacher/Weekend Bag After realizing that I didn't really have a nice bag to take to the hospital when I have baby #5, I splurged on this one and a matching pair of pajamas. I was afraid this bag might be too boxy or not big enough for my stay, but I was wrong. It is perfect! It does have some structure and a reinforced bottom, but the sides are not stiff and squared. It is slouchy and casual looking unless it is stuffed to the max. I can fit my makeup, hairdryer, slippers, several pairs of pajamas, and other necessities for a 2-3 day stay with plenty of room to spare. I am impressed with the details, like the pockets on the front, which are padded. I also like the bright chevron interior, which makes it really easy to find anything. It opens nice and wide at the top, too, so it is not like anything gets lost in a too-deep bag. I could see myself packing this full of beach towels and gear for the kids this summer, as well as using it for teaching when I go back to work. It is a very roomy and versatile bag. And I love the bright Ziggy Zinnia print that will brighten up the winter and work all summer long. I was so pleased that I bought another Grand Cargo Bag in the Flutterby print, which is also pretty and fun. Very happy customer here! January 7, 2015
Perfect carry-on bag; get one while you can! I can't believe this style is discontinued; hope VB brings it back! If you're planning to travel by air, you might want to buy a Grand Cargo while it's still available. Just returned from an overseas trip & am so glad I chose the Grand Cargo as my airline carry-on bag. I was deciding b/w the GC and my Weekender; the GC was the better choice for me b/c although the Weekender is a great carry-on--my daughter used hers--the GC's square shape makes it less likely that you'll whap a fellow passenger's head as you're walking down the skinny airplane aisle. The GC holds a ton of items--I made sure I could live out of mine for three days in case my checked bag was delayed--& yet, with the heavy-duty padded strap plus padded handles, it's not hard to carry this bag when it's fully loaded. The trolley sleeve is certainly handy, but once your big suitcase is checked, you'd better be able to haul your carry-on around the airport without too much effort. The Grand Cargo was great for this: compact, but roomy. I bought the GC for my international trip b/c you're limited to about 17 pounds if the airline weighs your carry-on, & even my lightweight traditional suitcase carry-on weighs about 7+ pounds empty. With the Grand Cargo's lighter starting weight, I could carry a few more pounds of clothing & truly live out of my GC if I had to. Bag comparison: Although the Grand Traveler is listed as carry-on compliant, I can see where the airline might look askance at a fully loaded GT & ask you to check it, particularly on any connecting flight you might take after your international one ends. The Weekender is a good carry-on choice if it's not overstuffed, but the Grand Cargo, in my opinion, is the best option for airline travel. Its square shape means your stuff is more vertical, so the bag is less likely to stick out of the overhead bin. I suppose it might fit under the seat also, but you'd lose all your legroom; I used a Cargo Sling for that instead. Extremely pleased with this bag!! March 23, 2015
