Very Disappointing! I, too, purchased this bag because I loved the size, shape and the "stay open" future. It does not stay open! I even went to my local Vera Bradley store and tried all 3 of the same bags they had in stock. None of them "stay open." As another buyer pointed out, I had to use one hand to keep the bag open while I was packing; extremely inefficient and frustrating. Unfortunately, the bag was returned. It is a beautiful bag and this feature could be easily fixed since the bag has metal hinges. The hinges just need to be modified to lock open. I would then purchase the bag again without hestitation! Disappointed While I agree that this is a beautiful bag to look at, I am not completely satisfied with it. When I read that it would "stay put" to ease packing, I thought it would be perfect for me. Unfortunately, when my bag arrived today, I discovered that it absolutely does not stay put/open. The bag seems to pull against itself at each end of the zipper, and there is no way to get it to stay open - as shown in the website photo and as described in the caption. I read all the reviews before purchasing, and one of those even mentioned this feature. I can't easily use a bag that I have to hold open with one hand while trying to pack with the other. Very disappointing. Sorry, it will be returned. March 9, 2011
Perfect for a quick weekend getaway! This bag easily holds everything you need for a weekend away! The classic design mixed with modern stiching and accents makes this the perfect bag for everyone. So functional! I love this bag because it's perfect to toss all my stuff in when I'm traveling around the city or going back and fourth from home to school. It's adorable and easy to carry and fits enough stuff for an entire weekend. It's also super convenient for carrying accessories and such back home for long breaks. Great weekender or carry-on I work for another handbag company but would never buy a travel bag. I've now owned 2 duffles from Vera and many other totes and accessories, but this one is my favorite! Perfect Size! I can't wait to use this bag for a couple upcoming trips. I plan to take it as a carry-on (for the overhead bin) and it's absolutely perfect for a weekend getaway. It's very chic looking and the grey nylon matches the Baroque pattern perfectly. I bought a few cosmetic bags in Baroque to throw inside. I love how the bag stays open while packing/unpacking. I'm very pleased! I really wish we were able to choose the pattern of the lining on the inside (I would have picked Baroque) but I understand from a manufacturing viewpoint that this would have been much more difficult to customize. Perfect bag for a weekend trip This bag is the perfect weekend traveler. I have used this for several trips and have found it extremely useful. The pockets along the size are great for items you need to get to quickly. The frame allows it to stay open, which is great while you are packing. I have received many compliments on this bag.
