Chunky Armed People Rejoice!
To my people with chunky or fluffy upper arms - THIS IS THE BAG FOR YOU! I have an upper arm that is fluffy and some Vera bags (such as the tote), don't fit on my arm well. The buckle tote is wonderful! I was able to loosen the strap to make it fit better on my arm. The amount of stuff that it fits is amazing! It is my go to bag for just about anything. I use it for travel, and for those last minute file folder grabs from work. It is stylish, and functional. Definitely among my most favorite Vera purchases and I purchased it in Lola and Canterberry Magenta. I just might pick up another color!

Some details about this stylish bag
I just got this tote last night but I wanted to write a review to provide some information the site is lacking. I would have bought it online but went to the store because I wanted to know if there were pockets inside, was that a breakaway zipper I was seeing, etc. I thought others might be interested in the same details.
This tote is a bit larger than the classic tote – about an inch and a half taller and a half-inch wider. It seems very sturdy because the trim sort of allows it to stand on its own. It also has a reinforced bottom – it feels like there is cardboard in there but it is sewn in and not removable so this is a consideration if you like to be able to throw your bags in the washing machine – covered by the faux leather bottom and there are four little metal feet it sits on. I got it in La Neon Rose and the black trim is a great complement to the black in the pattern. (I also expected the roses to be yellow based on what I saw on my monitor but they are more of a bright green in person, in case that’s helpful for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.)
It has a pretty deep slip pocket on the outside that I’d say is about 5x5 inches. I can fit my iPhone 4S in its VB snap-on case into it sideways and I could stack two of them in there. I would feel very secure having my phone in that pocket. It also would be great for stashing your keys. The pocket is trimmed at the top with the same faux leather as the sides. There is, indeed, a breakaway zipper. I know from reading reviews that some of you like that and some of you don’t; I’d rather have a zipper than none at all or a toggle closure, so I’m happy about it. The straps seemed pretty comfortable. I can never tell with just tissue paper in there so I put my purse inside of it for some weight and carried it around the store for a while. The straps are adjustable, so if you find it’s a bit short for you or would be tighter than you like when you’re wearing a heavy coat, you can move the buckle to the last of the three holes. Likewise, if you are smaller, you can make them a bit shorter.
Inside, there are two slip pockets on one side – they are not quilted, just the lining fabric – that are large enough to fit my iPhone (I think I’d be concerned it would slide out, though) and the pockets are wide enough to accommodate even some of the larger phones or a phone in an Otterbox case. On the other side is a zippered pocket that I would estimate measures about 6 inches deep and 8 inches wide. To give you an idea, I could fit my iPad Mini in there with probably an inch of depth to spare.
I can’t comment on how well the straps or the faux leather will wear at this point, but I can come back and review it after some use. In the mean time, I hope this gives you some better information about what to expect as far as the bag’s details go.

Absolutely love it!
I saw this bag in La Neon Rose and fell in love with it. I love everything about it. I use mine for graduate school. It has a very classy look, while being very useful. It holds my notebooks, text book, and any papers I have, while the pockets hold highlighters, pencils, pens, erasers, lotion, chapstick and anything else I need to carry with me. The best part is it holds a lot without feeling super heavy. When it rains, I zip the tote up and my things stay dry. I absolutely love this tote and would by it all over again.
