Not Large Enough...
Unfortunately VB has discontinued my 2 favorite handbags, the Laura and the 2 Way Tote so I thought I would try the Carryall Crossbody in Blue Bayou. As it turns out it is just slightly larger than the On The Go bag (which I purchased back in 2006). I used the Carryall for about 6 weeks then pulled out my Laura because the pattern went with the outfit I was wearing that day. That's when I realized how much more room, more pockets and easier to use the Laura was. I have also pulled out my Lilli Bell Two Way Tote for Easter, everything fit with room for more. Guess I will put away the Carryall and start using my "classics."

I love crossbody styles and have tried just about every style that Vera Bradley makes (from very small Shoot from the Hip to Messenger). The Carryall does not disappoint! It is a lot larger than Clare (my all-time favorite for traveling -- so sad it's being discontinued!) but not as large and cumbersome as a traditional messenger bag. The Carryall has similar dimensions as Mom's Day Out but has the pretty interior I expect. Mom's Day Out's taffeta interior put me off (part of the fun is the coordinating interior of my Vera's!) It has a zippered closure, two concealed slip-in exterior pockets and a large interior compartment with two slip in pockets. Sure, a zippered interior pocket would be great, but there is a large exterior zippered pocket so it kind of makes up for it. I will primarily use this bag for traveling or long days out when I need a large, lightweight crossbody that can hold a lot. I carried it recently for a college tour for my son and was able to carry all my everyday necessities (large wallet, small cosmetic, coin purse, etc) plus a full size water bottle and a bunch of brochures. This bag could easily carry a tablet. I always appreciate a lightweight crossbody and this one fits the bill perfectly!

Great size and function
I was excited to get a new bag in the Flower Shower pattern. My original choice was the On the Go bag, but I checked it out locally and decided the exterior pockets were too small for me. I purchased the pattern instead in the Carryall Crossbody which turned out to be a really good choice for my purposes. I like the size of the front pockets, but agree with one review that a pleated pocket would have been nice. As for the reviewer who was concerned over the support base which cannot be removed, I don't know exactly what that piece is made of, but the care instructions here on the description call for machine washing, so obviously it is not cardboard. If that is the only reason for returning, you might want to reconsider. I am enjoying my bag with its organization and light weight! It will be going on vacation with me.

Amazing! It fits EVERYTHING--and I carry a lot!
As a Vera ADDICT with more than 30+ Vera items I feel confident in saying I LOVE the Carryall! I like that I can have it on my shoulder or extend to crossbody when carrying my 19 month old daughter and her Convertable baby bag. I disslike that there is not more pockets on the inside, but I took care of that with two of my Vera wristlet's. I really like the the two slip pockets on the outside for my Phone and the full length zipper.

I've been using my Mom's Day Out style which is very similar to this but MDO has a tafeta lining on the interior, mainly reason is for moms who carried milk and baby food to carry around. Since, this came out I decided to get this as a non-mom version because my son now is 3. This bag has no tafeta lining for non-moms and the outside pockets are a lil bit different how it's being styled. The MDO style outside pockets are pleated which I like more and the carryall are just flat across. I like everything about this bag except I found out that the hard cardboard bottom is NOT REMOVABLE. My MDO style, everytime I wash it/them (I have a couple), I can easily remove the hard bottom in and out but this one is stuck underneath and there is no way how to get it except if you make a slit which will ruin your purse. I think this is not intended to be removed. I am not really sure what's underneath if it is a cardboard bottom or a piece of plastic? I don't know? The downside if it is a cardboard is that you can't really remove it and you don't really want to wash the cardboard. If anybody knows if what kind of bottom this bag has feel free to comment below... But I feel like it is a cardboard and I will be returning this bag. The bottom part only diappoints me about this bag overall, it is very pretty. Thanks!

The style is perfect for me, not too large but holds a lot. I use a folding cane and this fits in well when in a restaurant. Would have liked an inside zip pocket, but the outside one is large. Petal paisley is a great choice with vibrant colors on a dark background.

Carryall yes, crossbody is more like a messenger.
I'd been eyeing this bag and was able to snag one of the new colors, Petal Paisley, at a great price when the color was launched. Overall the bag is good, but I think calling this a crossbody conjures up the idea that this will be smaller and lighter but it isn't if you're carrying it all!
The strap is adjustable, the one annoyance is the detailing of not including the metal slide on both sides of the bag, it seems to be putting more wear on once side than the other. Not sure why a metal slide isn't in place on both sides. Mine is showing a bit of wear after about 2.5 weeks of carrying it, not a good sign.
The front slip pockets are handy, definitely large enough for my iPhone 5s in a Defender (large) case. I tried to put a small water bottle in one and it fit but pushed into the purse too much to be useful. Large zippered pocket on the back really holds quite a bit, but again, pushed into what space is available inside. You could easily slip an iPad mini, Kindle or Nook back there. I use it to hold my brush/pencil case and my double eyeglass so I can easily access it.
Inside, there are just 2 slip pockets and they are fairly large. 3 smaller pockets might have been more useful because most items tend to slide around inside these. I put mints, business card case, small brush and a medication bottle in these and there is plenty of space so everything ends up at the bottom and slid around.
There is no zippered pocket so I've resorted to carrying a non VB zippered nylon bag with my makeup, personal items. If you're used to having a zippered area to store these items, you'd have to use the outside zip pocket or a small makeup bag.
The styling is different that many of the bags I usually get. I've more accustomed to the larger, more open-top bags like the Glenna, Laura, Whitney and the larger totes. The curved top and zippered opening are large enough to clearly see inside the bag but if you have like to see everything at a glance, be sure to look at the lining colors and consider picking something lighter. I have the Petal Paisley design and the dark interior makes it a little challenging to easily see things at times.
Also, the word crossbody often makes me think of a smaller, lighter bag that won't weigh you down. This bag, in my opinion, is more like a shoulder bag with a crossbody length strap drop. If you had this filled (and it can hold a bunch, check out the measurement), it would be more like a messenger bag against your shoulder/neck. Something to consider if you plan on loading it up and then carrying it across your body. I tried this and, though I am a plus size woman, it looked pretty silly on me.
Thanks for reading!

I bought this bag the first day it came out in Clementine, and I loved it! It fit everything I needed for school and everything else for on the go. My PROBLEM with it is that I've had it a little over 3 months and my straps are already breaking. You can see where they are pulling from the fabric and starting to rip. The pockets are doing this as well. The side with the metal rectangle is fine, and why there isnt one on the other side, I dont know but I am so frustrated by this. Ive never had a Vera bag do this. Im not sure if its because its new, but I am not even carrying that much. I need a reliable bag and for the money I spend, I feel that it should last longer. I still love this bag, but unless changes are made, I will not buy another one of these Carryall bags in the future.

The Best Purse VB Has
I've used Saddle Up, On The Go, and Clare but I always had spray, headache medicine, and my VB wristlet in my bag, along with a bunch of other stuff, and nothing seemed to fit. When this bag got released, I wasn't planning on getting it but when I saw it I bought it on the first day it came out. It is the perfect size for everything I need, and I love the inside and outside pockets, along with the zip closure so that everything stays in the bag while I'm on the go. I absolutely love it, and I am soo happy with this bag. The strap is the perfect length to throw over my shoulder, and the bag isn't too big or too small. It's the Goldilocks of bags and I love it.

I like this bag because it looks nice on my shoulder and as a cross body. The two pockets in front are deep. I do wish there was a zip pocket inside the purse. I bought it in Citron and I think it is very pretty but sporty.
