Sophisticated, Functional, and Gorgeous Crossbody
This hipster, in my opinion, is far better than the Signature Collection Hipster.
This microfiber black looks and feels much nicer than my regular hipster.
It is so functional, with the two pockets in the front, then the large zip pocket on the back. These are perfect for cell phone chap stick, headphones, tissues, bandaids, toothpicks, and whatever else you need. Also, I stick my VB pen with my notepad in the back so that i can easily take quick notes where ever i am.
In the inside there are the three slip pockets, no zip pocket inside. This Is really great too because since it is a small cross body, too many pockets would make the bag bulge out. I put my lotion and hand sanitizer in one pocket, car keys in the other, and anything else in the other slip pocket. Then I have my wallet, and a few other trinkets in the main compartment as well.
This bag is so perfect for matching with anything and everything because it is a solid color. It is so smooth and sleek, especially the strap (possibly my favorite feature). I love the material of the strap so that it does not stick to my clothes, it can just slide forward and backward on my shoulder easily.
I do not think this is too heavy, honestly, how heavy could a small bag like this really get? I think it is perfect!
Just watch out for the threading on the microfibers; be careful not to snag any of the threads out of the stitching (with your keys, or chipped nail).

Great in solid colors!
I LOVE this bag! I wear it only as shoulder-strap, not crossbody. I like it because it can look dressy if needed. The outside pockets are a must for me and there are three of them. I would have liked a zippered pocket inside also. I am experimenting as to whether or not the stiff strap will slip off my shoulder. In the prints, the strap is soft fabric and stays on my shoulder. I got the black, only color available. PLEASE make other colors! You used to have a red but from reviews I see it was NOT a TRUE RED, but rather an orange-red which would not be good. How about Navy or Lime Green or True Red or Fuschia? I have many of the prints in various styles and love them, but since I almost always wear a print shirt or blouse, they don't get too much use. Solid colors are great! I can use the fun prints for my wallet, cosmetic case, and all the other smaller items that go in my purse!

Just love it !
I change my bags quite frequently. Bought black hipster as a Christmas present to myself:) Have been using it since and got favorable comments too. Holds comfortably my wallet, phone and other basics. Never used as crossbody, always on the shoulder, works for me. Being solid color, will never go out of fashion. Great Buy!

cute but not great. not worth the money
Love the microfiber. Love the Chili Pepper color. Hate the shoulder straps....hate that the shoulder straps are on the same side of the bag. It makes it hang wierd. I am so sorry I bought this bag. Hard to get in and out of. The regular hipster is awesome but the microfiber is overpriced and cumbersome

Lovely!
I recently bought the hipster in black microfiber, and I really love it. First, I love how sturdy and strong it is, and how it can stand up more easily than the regular hipster. Second, the solid color is rich and simply amazing; it will go well with anything and any color! Third, it seems to be slightly taller and wider than my regular hipsters, which means my Kindle Fire HD fits nicely inside with my wallet, phone, brush, tissues, lotion, make-up, etc. There is plenty of room and no bulkiness! Fourth, I actually like how the inside pockets are on the front side of the purse (the side with the slip pocket and small zip pocket on the front). It seems like I can access the inside pockets better than the inside pockets on the regular hipster. Fifth, the strap is a bit stiff, but I do not think it adds much extra weight at all. I like that it is less likely to get tangled. I love all of the pockets, the cross-body option, and zip closure! Overall, this is a great and functional black purse!

Like it but don't love it
I LOVE my original hipster. This hipster not so much. The strap is stiff. The purse has a definite front and back. If you have it on the wrong way, it is difficult to zip and unzip. The inside pockets are on the front side of the purse, which isn't very convenient for one-handed access. If they were on the back, you could use your hip or body to hold the purse still while you access your phone, hand santizer, or whatever else you want to store in the pockets. Overall, I like it. I'm hoping it will grow on me.

Okay, but not what I wanted
I ordered this hipster bag in Wine to match my plum-petals hipster. It matches fairly well, and is almost the same thing, except for the fact that the straps are a bit heavy, and so is the bag itself. Its even worse when I put lots of things in my hipster. I mean, thats what its for, right? for a pretty big amount of things? Well, not for this hipster. it makes my shoulders terribly ache. I wouldn't recommend this for school. If you want a hipster for school, buy the other hipster.

Lightweight, Hands Free, Perfect
My daughter decided she wanted a hipster, so we went shopping last night at our local Hallmark store. The warm bright red of the microfiber hipster caught my eye. I kept walking away, but it kept drawing me back. The color as it appears on my screen is how it reads in person, think warm tomato red. The addition of silver hardware is a lovely touch. The handle adds a tiny bit of weight to the bag over the traditional cloth handle, but the bag itself maintains its slim profile and lightweight feel. In fact, the added weight is only noticeable when the strap is tucked inside the bag. The feel once it's on your body is the same as it has ever been. The interior offers the same quirky contrasting, yet, coordinating print as the traditional hipsters and keeps the same collection of three open pockets on one side of the bag. It's a lovely purchase and I plan on buying a few as gifts for family and close friends.

Heavier than normal hipster
I have been dreaming of the perfect crossbody bag in black that is lightweight. Unfortunately this is heavier than my cotton hipsters. The strap especially is heavier. The reason I buy these bags (over leather) is they are so lightweight. It doesn't qualify as a heavy bag, but especially compared to my old hipster (without hardware on the strap), it's a huge difference. Most people probably wouldn't care, but if weight is a factor for you, then beware.
It's a great bag, and nice looking, and it would be 5 stars if it were lighter and had a zipped pocket inside the bag.

A Solid Bag to Match Tons of Patterns
Finally, the Hipster offered within the Vera Vera microfiber material! The best part of the solid colored bags is that you can still enjoy matching up your Vera Bradley items without having to buy a new bag every season. I purchased mine in black which perfectly matches all of the accessories that I tote. For a fresh college grad, I'm finally able to save some money while still indulging in a new wallet and checkbook cover to match my solid bag, without having to purchase the bag to match them! Who said a girl can't be pinching pennies in fashion?
