Holds a lot! I received this cross body for Easter in my favourite pattern- Island Blooms. I took it to school the next day and immediately fell in love with it. I can fit my phone, iPad, wallet, 3 paperbacks, fold up umbrella, several pencils and pens, 3 lip balms, a pad of sticky notes, my key, hand cream, notebook, agenda, binders, and much more. It has so much room and several pockets, and now I have some friends going online to order some for themselves! If you feel skeptical about getting this for school, have no worries. It is bigger than it looks and has a total of 7 pockets. I'd absolutely recommend this for everyone looking for a new school bag! It's everything you need in one. Once again, thank you Vera Bradley! great for school I bought a messenger for my daughter and she takes it every were. I asked her if she uses it for school and she said she did. it fits all of her books, pencils, makers, erasers, and crayons. she said she can fit her laptop and phone in it. i got my other daughters one too. they said they love it and use it for school also. :) May 1, 2013
One of my absolute favorite Vera items! I own two Messengers, one in Indigo Pop and another in Plum Crazy, because I love this bag so much. I'm a graduate student and also a commuter, so having a compact bag that holds everything is essential. On an average day I can fit my MacBook Pro in a Vera sleeve, two or three critical editions of books (about 400 pages each,) my Vera agenda, a couple bottles of water, and a notebook, along with pens, highlighters, and post it notes. The two front zip pockets are great for storing snacks or cosmetics, while I keep my keys, wristlet, and phone in the back pocket. Please don't ever retire this bag! April 28, 2013
Love it!!! I just bought this messenger in ribbons and I love it. It is so cute and it's bigger than I thought. The main compartment is huge and the back zipper is great for my agenda. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to people and the color ribbons is absolutley adorable! November 25, 2012
Style Meets Service I purchased the Messenger in the Ribbons pattern to carry my laptop, files, etc. I like the style, size, storage and security of this product. It's almost perfect.......I only wish that it had the nifty handle which was on its predecessor. I would have liked the option of carrying it both ways (consequently 4 stars). Totally worth it I bought this bag for school and its perfect! I can fit my laptop binder and notebook in the main compartment just fine. The back pocket is huge and holds my wallet and phone for easy access. The little pockets in the front hold lotion and hand sanitizer and they are easily accessible as well because the pockets are angled. Its a great bag with alot of space. October 13, 2012

Awesome for iPad using schools! When my school switched from textbooks to iPads I got this in Priscilla Pink and I love it. HUGE!!!!! This bag is great for school!!! I can fit several comp. books, 4 folders, a Nook, and a folded lunch bag in it! I begged and begged for my mom to buy it for me.
