This thing is a beast
I got one of these bags when I was a junior in high school for Christmas from my family. I have now just graduated law school and am starting my practice - it's finally time to replace it. In that time, I carried that thing back and forth to college, to my boyfriend's/fiance's house, to Europe, to the gym, to virtually every event in college where I needed changes of clothes - and I was in a bunch of clubs, so I was always hopping from one event to another. I had it with me for every single legal interview, both on campus and off campus, and I even took it with me to the bar exam for 3 days. I can fit easily 4 or 5 days of clothes in it, plus all my make up bags and a couple pairs of shoes, etc. The crazy thing is, the reason I need to finally replace it is because my friend's dog chewed on it and tore a hole in my trusty bag. I was completely crushed - I actually cried. If it hadn't been for that, I wouldn't be looking for a replacement any time soon. As it is, I've fallen in love with the canyon pattern and plan to replace my old (gorgeous) maison blue pattern from nearly 10 years ago. For what it's worth, I have the large cosmetic too, and that was the bag I used every single day for 4 years while in college (and many other times before and after - every. single. trip.), because I didn't have a better place to put my lotions, makeup, etc. in my dorm. It finally developed a tear in the plastic lining, but the outside is still as good as new. It's crazy.
If you're thinking about investing in VB, go for it. Find a pattern you love, find bags that fit your lifestyle, and maybe in 10 years it will be time to look again - or maybe not. College kids' luggage probably gets more abuse than the average person's, so I'm thinking I'll probably get 15 years out of my canyon pattern.

This bag is SOOOOOO much bigger than it looks!!
I bought the large duffel along with the Grand Traveler last year as a graduation present to myself. Both bags are amazing, but I was surprised at how much the large duffel holds! I went on a trip to camp for a week and the large duffel held 4 pairs of jeans, 4 or 5 sweatshirts, 2 pairs of pajamas, 2 or 3 pairs of shoes (including boots!), at least 5 long sleeve shirts, and a few belts. I am going on a 13 day trip in June and I have no doubt that it will hold all of the clothes I need, and I don't pack lightly either! The bag is so durable and roomy! A lot of the other reviews say it is good for a 4 or 5 day trip, but it can hold a lot more! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a large, but not bulky looking bag! Vera definitely came through for me! ♥

Perfect for college students!
I received this duffle in Slate Blooms almost 2 years ago as a graduation gift from my sister and I love it! It is perfect for when I go home or visit my boyfriend for a weekend. It fits a lot so I don't have to worry about taking two bags when I travel. As a side note, if you're an over-packer like I am, you might have to pack multiple bags when travelling more than a few days. All in all, this duffle is great!

Great piece for easy traveling!
I got this piece for christmas this year and I loved it so much I just ordered another one to have for big trips. Im a junior in college and it can hold a ton of stuff from outfits to make up bags and shoes. There have been a few times I have really stuffed it full and the zipper has always stayed good! The only downside is the fact that it only has one little side pocket that just about fits my hair products. I wish it had one or two smaller pockets on the inside for smaller items. I usually just store things in the small or medium cosmetic bags instead so it works! Overal, A really good sturdy piece!

Perfect for college
I got this bag in Suzani, for Christmas last year. As a college sophomore it has been great for traveling to and from home during school breaks. But you have to be careful about how much you put in it. Trying to save room in my car by over stuffing my bag has caused it to slightly rip and tear at the seems. Also, the handles are ripping off because of the weight. It's a great bag for storing clothes in between seasons in a small dorm room. Overall a really good bag.

"Go to" car travel bag
I bought my first large duffel 10 years ago, fresh out of college, in Pink Pansy and I still use it for all my weekend car trips or overnights to family gatherings for holidays. It is a huge bag that will fit almost anything you could imagine carrying! I now am a mommy to 3 little boys and I purchased another one of these specifically for their weekend bag as well. BUT.....a couple of disclaimers. If you like pockets, this bag isn't for you as there is only one on one of the outside ends. If you're a plane traveler, this bag isn't probably going to be a great pick either. I haven't even attempted a plane trip with one.

Good duffel bag for travel
I am an active band member at school and I needed a new duffel bag since we go on numerous fairly short trips. I bought the Large Duffel in Ribbons and it was perfect for a three-day trip to Indianapolis which required me to pack lots of hair products and shoes (we had to dress up). When used with the Vera tote as a 'carryon' for the bus, it was the perfect amount of space to hold everything I needed. Next year, we're going to Hawaii and I can't wait to take this on the plane. If you're unsure about buying, just do it! It was definitely worth what I paid. Plus, it folds up nicely when not in use.

Snow Birds Favorite Bag
I have two of these in differents colors.. Love them both. They are light weight and hold what two overnight bags with wheels would hold. My husband is now a believer. We went away for 2 months with two VB large Duffle bags and one overnight bag ... had more than enough. It is amazing what fits into one of these large duffel bags. THe extra outside pocket is wonderul for sunglasses or something I forgot to pack... throw it in and go.

Great for Air Travel!
I packed more than I expected to fit in this bag. There are inside pockets as well outside. It fit in the overhead compartment. I had complements on it, plus some ladies knew it was Vera Bradley.
I am a truck driver, so now I just use it as my suite case.
I am well satisfied.

Travel in Style!
This is HUGE! I ordered it in Doodle Daisy, and it's beautiful! I could pack for a week, or maybe even 2! I took it on a trip, and I EASILY fit 3 changes of clothes, plus full-sized toiletries, my pillow, and much more; I still could pack so many more clothes and accessories. Trust me, if you are a heavy packer, then this bag is for you! I considered the small duffel bag, but I thought it would be too small for my needs. The large duffel is still pretty big for what I need, but I think it's better to have more room than not enough. Vera Bradley needs to make a duffel bag that's medium sized; that would be perfect! :) The strap length is a little long on my 5' 3" frame, but it is not of huge concern; it's still very easy to carry. I really like how this is considered a "carry-on" size. If I ever go on a trip and need to fly, I can just take this with all my items in it. I wouldn't need to worry about losing my luggage after the flight. Vera Bradley has impressed me with functional, stylish luggage! :)
