Perfect for a teacher!
I absolutely love this bag for teaching. I teach 2nd grade and love that this bag is ultimately a file organizer! I've used the Vera style previously, and also have a smaller tote, Get Carried Away, and Miller. I was in search of a new teaching bag because I felt that the Vera was getting too heavy and I was losing items at the bottom because of how deep it was. After multiple times of visiting the VB store and checking out their bags I decided on this one. I don't use it for my laptop though. I do put my iPad, portable hard drive and chargers in the padded center section. In the two outer slots I keep my plan book, grade book, papers to grade, and teachers manuals. A lot can fit in here and I find that I'm even more organized with these three slots. I find that since the weight distribution is horizontal rather than vertical with the Vera, the bag is lighter and easier to carry. I bought it in the Plum Crazy color. If you were like me in search of a new teacher bag-this one's it!

Great for school or work
This bag is perfect!!! I am a teacher and bringing papers home and all the other jazz to go along with it can fit! I use an iPad and a laptop in my classroom and they both fit!! LOVE this bag! The only thing that could make this bag better would be a pocket to hold my water bottle!
Other than that its the best!! I have this in va va bloom and love it!!

Perfect for Work
I just received my bag 2 weeks ago. I have toted it back and forth to work each day and it is perfect! The only thing I would change is to make the straps quilted and the inner Velcro piece longer.

I love this Bag!!!
I just received my first Vera Bradley bag today in the mail. It was perfect. I got the Marina Paisley design which is also perfect and beautiful it pretty much holds everything I need for school and just my general necessities. I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone. Also i plan on using the laptop section for my iPad and bluetooth keyboard but I actually think my laptop would fit too. I just love it.

A Perfect Tote...
This is a perfect tote for a 15" laptop and a few other items; however, the PERFECT TOTE is needed for my 17" MacBook laptop and I'd love to see a sleeve on the outside of this tote that could slip over my carry-on suitcase handle!

I've been waiting for a bag like this
I love this tote! Normally I carry my iPad in a regular Vera, when I go to the hospital for monthly infusions. I don't like the tablet hipster, because all it carries is the iPad! But, the Vera dosent offer much protection. So, I bought the laptop tote. It works great not only for my iPad, but I can also fit my 15 in laptop in there too( instead of the iPad). I like this bag because it's very versital. Not only can I carry my technology, I can also carry my knitting projects, magazines, even a sweater or a change of clothes!! And it's east to carry with the long handles. I love this bag!!

Need a bag for 17" computer
I love this bag, but it won't fit my computer. I have a business computer with the 10 key number pad next to the keyboard. So it is a 17". It fits into the laptop portfolio but there is no room for the charger, let alone a few files.
I want a beautiful briefcase for the business women!

Laptop measurement is screen diagonal
I think this is a nice bag, but would be improved by more organization. I'd have preferred more pockets, a zippered compartment on the wall opposite the one with three little pockets would've been nice, and more on the outside, like the go-round tote.
As to complains regarding laptops not fitting, the recommended size refers to diagonal measurement of the screen, not the outside width (as one would measure a television screen). Hope that helps someone.

Love, love, love, love this bag!
I work in the IT industry and most laptop backs are ugly! I have a 14inch Alienware laptop. (This is a gaming laptop so its very thick.) It fits perfectly. I can also carry my makeup case, wallet, charger, mouse, keys, and a few odds-n-ends. The zipper outside pocket is perfect for my headphones and change purse and I just slide my cell phone into the other. Is the bag heavy? Yes, but it's really due to how heavy my laptop is. Not the bags fault. I do wish it had padded shoulder straps, but at this point, I love it so much I don't think that deserves a rating decrease.
Another thing I love about this bag is without my laptop...I can use it as a purse/diaper bag when running quick errands. It keeps my tablet safe in the laptop sleeve and has enough space for a few diapers and a bottle.

Computer does not FIT
I wanted to buy this today but couldn't because my laptop did not slip into the computer pocket. The pocket is too small. My laptop is 14 inches wide and it would not slide to the bottom of the pocket.
If you could allow a little more room - it would be a great bag for busy computer people.
