Very Disappointed in the New Style.
Love my old Saddle Up style. Bought the new style and do not like it. Do not like the more squared design and the magnet moves. Would not buy another one or recommend it to friends. Bring back the old style!

Just Ok
I went ahead & tried the new style. I'm not a fan. I have 5 colors in the original Saddle Up. Love the original style. VERY disappointed in the new. The back zipper is the only improvement but not enough for me. This style just doesn't have the same flair as the previous one. Some people don't like the ring on the old. I think it makes the bag. I really do not like the two stripes of pattern down the front. I think it makes it look cheap & not classy. It does seem to hold the same amount of items (i.e. kiss & snap wallet, coupon book, slim case, coin purse, contact case, mini notebook, pen, chapstick, keys, cell phone, 3 yrs old sons small toy cars & odds & ends.) Please take the best of both & bring out the 3rd generation Saddle Up.

Too Wide for a cross body
Tried to see if I could wear the new saddle up, but found it to be wider than the original. Also do not like the squared off flap. Just makes it look more like a satchel instead of a handbag. It is also more squared off in the bottom in real life than what it looks like in the picture.
I love and have lots of Vera B products. But this redesign of my all time personal favorite just isn't doing it for me. Bring back the old design.

Floating magnet
I loved this bag. Until about two months after the purchase the magnet started to float. This bag has a flaw, the reviews bear that out. I bought one of the older models and so far love it. Was surprised to see it also has a magnet, figured it must not have. What did you do to that feature!? Really miss the outside zipper., though. So remodel again, add the zipper pocket and fix the magnet issue and it'll likely be 100% approval.

Saddle up - New Style Much Better
The new style in the "Saddle Up" is much better. I like there isn't any heavy silver ring on the flap - it was annoying anyway. True - the magnet becomes loose inside flap then it doesn't seal correctly. I just love the zipper pocket on outside (back) of this handbag. I keep my keys in there so they are easy to find. Pockets inside make everything easy to organize. KEEP THIS NEW SADDLE UP STYLE! AND DON'T EVER DISCONTINUE !!! This is the only style I buy from VB.

Loved it UNTIL the magnet started floating!
I've been carrying this bag about 4 months. Loved it. Good size for all my stuff. About a week ago, the magnet in the flap started moving all around within the flap. Very annoying. Not sure how to fix because it is inside the sewn flap. Would reconsider buying a second one. Disappointed!
I've seen the other posts regarding the floating magnet. Seems to be a concern that should be addressed by VB.

Great bag
I love the new design! Don't miss the outside ring or the pleats. They were really just cosmetic. Love the new bigger slip pockets under the flap,so much easier to get items out of them. The back zipper is a nice touch. As always love all the colors. Fell in love with midnight blues when I saw it on line and even more so when I saw it in the store. This is my first cross body bag but I do have 5 other Vera Bradley's. I am already trying to decide on a color for summer!

MAGNET FLAW
I BOUGHT THE PURSE IN THE FALL AND GOT THE CANYON COLOR. I LOVED THE PURSE, IT WAS JUST RIGHT FOR WHAT I NEEDED. I WAS ABLE TO CARRY MY TABLET IN THE ZIPPERED PART ON THE BACK AND EVEN MY SMALL CAMERA FIT INSIDE IN ONE OF THE POCKETS. HOWEVER AFTER ONLY A COUPLE OF MONTHS THE MAGNET HOLDER MUST HAVE BROKEN BECAUSE MY MAGNET FOR THE CLOSURE FLAP FLOATS ALL OVER.

Miss the ring and trouble with the magnet
I had 4 of the old Saddle Up purses with no problems. I loved them all. I then got the new model so I could get the pattern Paisley Meets Plaid. The magnet came unattached after about 2 months use and started "floating" in the flap of the bag. Needless to say I could no longer carry it. I was able to purchase a new one of the old style with the ring and I actually don't miss the back outside pocket. This was the first time I had a magnet problem. Still loved the pattern though :(

A little smaller, a little more streamlined....
I hesitated to get this bag. I have an original in Carnanby which I love. I loved the pleats, the expandable sides, not the ring so much, but it is still a great purse for crossbody use. The new saddle up, I have to admit I LOVE the back zippered pocket they added. Though to get this pocket it seems there was a sacrifice on the width of the overall bag.Not a huge difference but enough for me to go, "hmmmmm." I haven't carried it yet, but I can already say I love the new wider flap and stronger magnet at the close. I purchased it in English Rose, and I love this color. Very fall feeling with the warm chocolate colors, bright enough to cheer up winter in Michigan and the pop of pink will carry me over into spring.
