Overhead Bin Friendly and Tons of Room
Think about your needs before you choose the Grand Traveler. Airline travel over-packers beware! Car travelers rejoice!
I love this bag! It carries a lot, fits easily in the overhead bin of Southwest and United airplanes and also has the super handy trolley sleeve. So far three flight attendants have given me the "fish eye" when carrying on the bag but no one has made me check it since it is actually about an inch smaller than the carry on restrictions of the airlines I have used it on. I have not tried to cram this bag under the seat in front of me at my feet. I doubt it would be comfortable at all as it is just too big to leave any space for your feet or purse on a flight.
Now, if you are an over-packer, this bag is going to get bulky and heavy. No fun to lug thru an airport running to catch a flight. If you are using it for a car trip - stuff everything in and toss it in the trunk. No muss, no fuss. I have packed for a 4 day trip and only used this bag and a tote/purse.
Interior slip pockets are deep - such a great feature. Overall a winner!

I have bought many expensive brands of luggage and carry on bags but this by far. This bag has great space to pack for a weekend or a week, it has large pockets inside that allow you either put shoes or things you don't want to keep with clothes. I have it in the midnight blues and i can't tell you how many flight attendants compliment my bag upon entering the aircraft. The bag straps and over the shoulder strap make it very comfortable to carry regardless the weight. The soft material make the bag so much easier to handle for travel and putting in overhead bins on air crafts, The zipper is sturdy and easy to zip and unzip and the front flap is great for an ipad or e-reader. This bag aslo has an open flap in the back so you can slide it on a rolling luggage to keep it from sliding off if hung by handles like most people try to do. This bag rocks! Hope my review helps.

I recently purchased this bag to use as a carryon for a 9 day trip to Mexico. I absolutely love it. I was able to put all 9 days worth of clothes in the bag and didn't need a checked suitcase. I used the Grand Traveler as my carry on and the Go Round tote as my personal bag. Worked like a charm. Because the sides are soft there was no problem putting it in the overhead bins on any of the planes. The downside is that the bag does get heavy to carry when it's loaded but it was worth not having to check luggage
