Sophisticated and functional bookbag for college
My junior and senior years of high school I used a large tote to carry my books around from class to class, but it is worn down due to overuse (not a vb product). I wanted to change it up and carry a 2 strap bookbag for college, since it would be more secure on my shoulders while commuting on the train, subway, etc. Let me just say that, although it is smaller then the standard backpack, the size of this bookbag is absolutely perfect for my needs since I only have to carry books for 2 classes a day and an iPad 2, which fits snugly inside (a laptop will NOT fit, a netbook might though). Believe it or not, it is very roomy inside & there is a nice large zipper to hold the backpack straps, as well as another large zipper inside the bag. The drawstring feature will keep everything inside. Although the wine is a gorgeous color I got mine in the black since it black matches with everything and it is just the most elegant little bag I have ever owned!

Excellent Backpack - just fix front pockets
I LOVE this backpack. I use it as my baby bag for my son and it's just big enough to hold what I need for a day out. When hanging on my back is completely comfortable.
Only suggestion would be to make the front pocket flaps more secure. Everything else is great.
Thank you Vera Bradley for another great design.

Not user friendly
The previous design I purchased two back packs. Out our duress (because of the new design) I purchased a new one. I returned it in a week. Too cumbersome to use, not user friendly. I love the old design and would like Vera Bradley to bring it back in all colors.
Everyone that sees the old design comments on it. (positive)
Please bring it back I need a new bag!!!!

Gorgeous Navy Backpack
Gorgeous navy Vera! The size of this backpack is perfect. The straps are extremely comfortable on your shoulders. Nice pockets inside and out. Love it. I would highly recommend it. PLEASE make the crossbody push lock handbag in navy!!!! Bring back the "backsack" in navy microfiber too! It would be a hit!

Very lovely backpack - I'm so pleased!
First of all, the packaging was beautiful! I got just a very ordinary shipping box, I thought - until I opened it. The interior was elegantly printed with the Vera Bradley logo on a deep purple background. The shipping (I chose ground shipping) was ultra-fast, as I ordered on Wednesday afternoon, and it arrived on Friday morning.
Now, for the backpack. I have been searching for a backpack that didn't look like it belonged to a teenager for years. I have rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia and a spinal injury that makes carrying a purse in the traditional way uncomfortable. This fits the bill perfectly. The design is very elegant yet feminine. The color is a lovely deep purple-y burgundy. I don't see any problems with the magnets on the two small pockets on the front. The pockets are nice and deep, and will even hold my cell phone with no problems. The interior is surprisingly deep and roomy with pockets here and there.
I do carry a lot of smaller items, so I may have to get some sort of purse organizer after I've used it a few weeks. I even have room for my medicine and my camera!

Great features but poor design
Backpack is good quality, good size, and nice features, but handle and closure design is very poor. Backpack needs to be on table or counter when you open it. If you are holding it, the front falls downward and things can fall out. Extremely clumsy and frustrating. Design should revert back to the small backpack style that's great.

LET DOWN!
I WAS SO HAPPY TO GET THIS BAG BUT THE FRONT POCKETS WERE NOT SECURE AT ALL. I RETURNED IT. THIS NEEDS THOSE QUALITY MAGNETS! LET DOWN.

LOVE it!
A friend has this bag and I noticed and liked it. Got money for my birthday and decided to spend it on this bag. I'm so glad I did. I absolutely love it. It's well made and I get compliments all the time on it. It's elegant enough for a dressy casual event and also great for every day use.

dissappointed
Just received my backpack ...dissaponted...the quality does not meet Vera Bradley standards!
The two small pockets in the front(great Idea) do not snap shut..it looked like everything was off center. I have many Vera Bradley hanbags and backpacks and this was awful. Sending it back.

Elegant backpack for professional or everyday use!
I just received my backpack in the wine color. It is absolutely beautiful! The wine color is deep and rich, the picture does not do it justice! I would call it plum. Coordinates with both the Plum Petals and the Safari Sunset.The inside liner is adorable with nice size pockets. The two front pockets are perfect for easy access to a cell phone or keys. Large zip pocket in the back for extra storage. I am thrilled with this backpack and highly recommend it!!! Five stars for this Vera Bag!!!!!
