Lots of space, zipper attachment is worrisome.. This tote is large enough to hold my iPad (without the Vera Bradley case) but with the magnetic cover in the front tablet pocket. The front turn-lock compartment has a decent amount of padding to keep it protected. Inside there are three pencil/pen slip pockets on the inside center with 2 slip pockets on either side. These are large enough to hold my iPhone 5S in a large (lifeproof) case, but it just fits. The other side has a large zip pocket. On the outside of the bag there are 2 deep slip pockets on either side. I have used these for my umbrella (not mini but a smaller sized one), a Brita water bottle and sometimes carry a pair of ballet slippers on the side with the umbrella. Today I fit this in my tote : accordion wallet, a zip ID case with misc store loyalty cards, a medium cosmetic bag, VB contact case, file folders for work, a scarf & mittens, flashlight, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, finger oxygen meter, a couple of Clif bars and an apple. The tote was a bit heavy but not overstuffed and I could easily zip the top. The zipper is my concern on this bag. The tape end (that is, the fabric part of the zipper at the end that doesn't open) is attached to the inside of the bag. This doesn't look as though it will hold up over time. I may need to make a few reinforcement stitches on this to keep it in place. I've carried it about 6 times and when reaching in the depths of this it puts strain on that area where the zipper is attached. That's why I've given it 4 stars, plus it would be great to see a key clip on the inside of these larger bags so we don't lose our keys in the bottom. December 12, 2013
The perfect work bag I have probably bought close to 100 pieces of Vera. I have tried the laptop carryall, the Vera, the large laptop tote, a pleated tote, the Glenna, the Mandy and the Bowler. This beats them hands down for me. I use a tablet with keyboard cover for work so the front pocket is perfect. The 2 slip pockets carry my personal and work cell phones. I carry a stethoscope, prescription pads, wallet, ID case, plus keys, brush, etc with room to spare AND IT ZIPS CLOSED! Only wish it didn't sag the tiniest bit. Please don't ever stop this style. I already have it in Bittersweet, Heather, and Venetian Paisley. November 19, 2013
A bag with many uses I chose this bag for its size, and because of the larger front pocket with the turn-lock closure. I'm very happy with my choice - it's remarkably versatile! I've only had it for a couple of months but have already found several uses for it. I bought it mainly as a "rehearsal bag" for the singing groups I belong to--plenty of room for my binders/folders of music in the main compartment, and the turn-lock pocket in front is great for pens, a pitch pipe, throat lozenges, and so on. And, finally, my water bottle goes in one of the side pockets. I've also used it as my "personal item" to be carried on a plane - it held my iPad, my Little Hipster purse, some needlework in progress, and a few other odds and ends that I wanted during the flight. On a driving trip, where I had a large suitcase but just needed a few items in my motel room overnight before resuming the drive the next day, it was a perfect little overnight bag. Room for pajamas, a change of clothes, and a few basic toiletries; I left the big suitcase in the trunk of the car. August 6, 2014
