Go in the store to judge the size for yourself
I saw these at the VB store and bought them in Jazzy Blooms. I love them and do not find them to be too large. They're about the same length (maybe even a tad shorter, but wider in the width) then a normal hair clip. I loved mine so much I'm going back to get a set in the Lilli Bell pattern (by the way, coming from a non-pink girl, Lilli Bell is BEAUTIFUL in person). I would guess that they're probably around 1-1/2"Lx3/4"W.

Very Big
I was so excited to see these come out. Love wearing my bangs to the side and I thought that these would look great in my hair. However, they are very big. Maybe 2 inches? It's a no go for me.
VB: Hope you have plans to make them smaller!!
