I have to admit, I was feeling disappointed when I open the box and first saw it in person. Then I thought to give it a chance, switch my bag to work. After putting my stuff in it, this bag is surely the perfect size. I love the tote option specialy. This is now my favorite Vera Bradley bag.

What a wonderful, convenient bag!
I bought this bag in Indigo Pop and I love it (this is a big thing for me to say about a bag)! It's super convenient- sometimes I carry it over my shoulder like a purse, then other times I use it as a backpack. But I love that I can go either way on the spur of the moment. I went to a museum that didn't allow backpacks, but allowed purses, so I just took the backpack straps off and tucked them inside (to avoid questions). It's roomy but not huge. I highly recommend this kind of bag.

Feeling cute with my new bag!
Love Vera! Not sure I liked this bag from the pictures online, but when I went to the store and saw it, I knew it was the one for me! My awesome Mom had checked my Pinterest page to pick my Christmas gift, which was the Bittersweet backpack. I had just bought a Bittersweet bucket tote, so I wanted to switch color. Vera has always been so easy to return gifts with tags or switch patterns! Your colors make me smile!

The design is a problem for me as it tips over easily. I have a version of every VB backpack in our extended family. This is the only one that drops things out. I purchased it for the two-in-one versatility. But it is not a good backpack as it slides around and is not secure with the flap popping open. Test this in the store before purchase. I highly recommend the original Backpack as a purse instead.

I can't say enough good things about this bag. I have lots and lots of VB's, and this works for all purposes. After using a print for a month or so, I ordered the black and had it monogrammed. It arrived within a week and it is so classy looking! A backpack is the best way for me to carry all my stuff for an extended period, but most of the time I use the rolled shoulder strap. Love that it can be used as a crossbody. Nothing gets "lost" in the bottom, it holds an amazing amount without looking ridiculous, and VB engineering did a fine job with the magnet--grabbing a heavy-ish bag by the handle does NOT make the magnetic flap fly open. Everything I could wish for in a bag! And p.s., this more sophisticated backpack look is just fine for this senior citizen!

I love this bag and how versatile it is! It's also a very cute bag and I get lots of positive comments (I have it in Heather). I only wish it were a little bigger.

Pattern didn't look like photo!
Ordered in Canterbury Cobalt and expected it to look like the picture on the website. Call me OCD -- but I expected the same symmetry in the pattern as shown. So aesthetically, I was disappointed in pattern I received -- really, really large circle on one side, small one on the other. But I love the colors in the pattern. And I like the versatility of the bag. But I really don't like the look of pattern placement. And since I don't like the looks of the bag, plan to return it. I recommend seeing at store before purchasing. I've purchased dozens--probably hundreds -- of VB products over the years, and this is first time pattern placement emerged as a big issue in my aesthetic satisfaction.

Good for Concealed Carry
I bought this bag because I am able to carry my pistol in the back zipper pocket. I carry the bag as a shoulder bag and I am able to easily reach and draw my pistol. I have purchased concealed carry handbags and they are all to heavy. I now use this bag as well as my Vera tote (pistol within easy reach when in inside pouch) for concealed carry. Probably not designed for this purpose but it's perfect for me and I have suggested it to friends who also carry concealed.

Cute and fashionable but not so functional
As everyone else, the cuteness of this bag caught my eye from the get go. I love how versatile it is as you are able to completely remove the straps and use as a cute handbag or put them on and use as a backpack. It can fit an iPad, wallet, cosmetics and toiletries. The pros: If you are into fashion, the handbag makes a statement. I love the new color cocoa moss as it is much prettier in person because the avocado green stands out. The cons: I think this bag is way overpriced for what you're getting. For this price you can get a great handbag and if on sale also a backpack. This will not serve as a school backpack as it's not big enough for a three ring binder or books. The handbag as a crossbody may work for you but you can't put anything too heavy on it or it wears on your shoulder. The backpack aspect is not as practical as you may think and you can get a better price and functionality with other vera bradley backpacks.

Very Vera Versatile
I have been using this backpack tote for over a month now and it has held up very well. I bought it in Lola which can be worn with many different colors of clothing. The top handle is comfortable on my shoulder and does not slip off when I use the bag as a purse. When used as a backpack the straps are also comfortable as well as adjustable. I have also used the bag as a crossbody by clipping the backpack straps together to make a longer strap. The various ways that the bag can be worn makes it a favorite. I can shop hands free, carry my bag and my daughter's backpack when I pick her up after school and still hold both of my children's hands when crossing the street.
The bag is not as roomy as my Double Zip VB backpack so it is not something I can recommend for students carrying big books or binders. It does fit my Nook reader with cover, my Kiss n' Snap VB wallet, a small umbrella and several other small items, (phone, Kleenex pouch, hand sanitizer, etc.). There is slightly less room if you use the drawstring so keep that in mind. The space inside is slightly less than a Vera tote. It is more of a medium sized bag.
Inside it has two small rectangular slip pockets that my iPhone 4 fits into. It also has a zippered pocket that might fit a small wallet. Underneath the flap are two small, rectangular shaped slip pockets similar to the ones on the inside. There is one more larger zippered pocket that rests against you when you wear the bag as a purse/backpack. All of these pockets keep my things organized as well as help me find things quickly with one hand when I need them.
I considered the bag a bit pricey but got it with a discount and find that after using it for a month I would have paid the full price. Keep in mind that it is more of a casual bag but that fits my style just fine. Lastly, I like the look of the bag because it is more stylish than a traditional backpack. Thank you Vera!
