Care Tips

The Signature Collection is made of 100% cotton. We recommend machine washing (cool/gentle cycle) with mild detergent, then air-drying. Do not bleach. (Please note: Some items have a solid base that must be removed before washing. If the base is sewn in, it can be safely washed.) Vera Bradley does not recommend the use of Woolite®, since it is not recommended for cotton fabrics. Check product care label for further instructions.

Great work bag This bag is so convenient. I'm a teacher and have two and might get another. It holds everything I need for the day! March 23, 2013
Nice but needs improvement The messenger bag is nice but it needs improvements if elementary kids are carrying it around as my daughter does. In my opinion I recommend: - Bigger size pockets on the side to fit a water bottle - A place to insert identification tag that fits a business card - Zipper at the top to close it completely before closing the front lap. - A way to close the two gusseted pockets at the front (Velcro, press button) March 8, 2013
Awesome as a purse! I just got my bag yesterday and I took it to work today :) Just perfect for all my stuff. The best thing is it's light weight. Since I am only 5 feet tall I had to remove the shoulder pad thingy but otherwise it's a perfect fit. I highly recommend this bag! The " Night and Day" color scheme goes with any outfit. Great alternative to backpack I've been using this bag for over 3 years now. I tutor math and have no classroom of my own, so this bag gets dragged all over and usually tossed on the floor (especially in the car). I sponge it off to clean it, and it is just now starting to show its age spots. Nothing, however, is fraying or unraveling. I like the wide, long crossbody strap, it is comfortable on my shoulder when the bag is stuffed. The outside pockets actually fit a travel mug. You will not be able to haul multiple 3" binders in this bag, but it is perfect for several slim folders, a hardsided pencil case, and a few workbooks. January 8, 2013
Too small... I carry around a lot of stuff for school, and this bag doesn't fit that stuff. A younger kid would enjoy this if they don't carry a lot of things. November 8, 2012
So glad that the messenger is back! This is my perfect work carry all and as I drive to and from if it falls over the buckle keeps things snug. I love all the pockets and zip compartment. I love this bag so much that it is a gift I give to my favorite coworkers and they love it also! October 23, 2012
Can't wait to use it for school! I received this Messenger in Happy Snails yesterday, and I am in love! For the price I couldn't pass it up. I haven't seen messenger bags in a long long time and am so happy they brought it back! Personally, I like this version better than the restyled one because the inside pockets are the inside pattern instead of the silkish Vera Bradley lining. I am going to use it for school (10th grade) and I think it will hold my books nicely. If I have to carry a textbook or two in my hands I really don't mind. I think I will take out the removable baseboard so I can fold it and put it in my locker, but it might fit with it so I will see. The pockets! There are so many pockets. There are the 2 side pockets which aren't big enough for a water bottle or something like that, but probably some random pens/pencils or a phone. Once you open it up, there are 2 pockets with pleats so they can expand if you really need them to. On the inside of the bag, there are 2 nice and big slip pockets. The back zip pocket is pretty roomy, too! I think this will work well for school and pretty much cost the same as a normal other brand backpack, yet is 1,000 times more fashionable. Thank you Vera Bradley for bringing this back!! July 27, 2012
Awesome!!!!!! My mom ordred this in plum petals ( which is my fav pattern!) and love it!!!!!!! July 17, 2012
Great for Adults Returning to School I am 32 years old and went back to school a couple of years ago and didn't want to get a regular backpack to carry. I ended up getting the Messenger in Mod Blue at the time and loved it. I am back to purchase another one in Baroque to use for work since I go from one job right to the next and need to carry quite a bit with me. July 17, 2012
Great for MIDDLE school This messenger bag was wonderful for middle school. I got it in Purple Punch 4 years ago. On a day when I needed to take a lot home, I could fit in three one inch binders, a take-home folder, a 1/2 inch spiral notebook, a 1/2 inch planner, and a non-Vera Bradley pencil bag that was absolutely stuffed. Now, I'm going into high school and I don't want to carry around a messenger bag, as it'll be too small for all the things I'll need. From now on, it's being used as a travel bag and a bag I can use for the pool. Oh, and it is a bit worn from years of use. There are a few fraying threads and the entire back (the part that goes against my thigh) is a bit faded, but from the front it looks brand new and has held up well. :) July 13, 2012
