Nice to have in wallet, but...
It's a handy magnifier to have in your wallet or wristlet, and the light is great when you're in a dark restaurant and can't read the menu or see the bill. But the paint and pattern scratches off very easily using your fingernail and, while I was not doing that, it also rubs off when you put in and out of the slot in the card holder where I keep it. I bought this item to match my Vera wallet, but without the pattern on it, I might as well have bought a cheap one at the discount store.

I keep this handy all the time
I really like this magnifier. I find it very useful to help with fine print, especially in low light situations. I use this all the time when reading menus in restaurants. I think it is discreet and I like the size because I can keep it in my wallet or outside pocket of my collection of Vera Bradley bags. I had a version from another manufacturer that was frustrating to use...the button for the light was on the bottom edge was hard to push and hold and hurt my finger, so I rarely used it. This one from Vera has replaced that and I find myself reaching for it all the time. The button for the light is on the front and easily pressed by your thumb. If you are looking for magnification in order to read page after page of material, this is probably not your answer, but if you need a little assistance, especially with "mature vision" in situations like reading menus or labels when shopping, I think this would be a good choice for you.

Excellent little magnifier
I had an earlier version of the VB magnifier, but it was not as clear and did not have a light. This is SO much better. I keep it with me so it's handy whenever I need it. I will be buying more of these to give as gifts!

I like that this small, and fits into a pocket.
However, nowhere does it list the magnification. And the cut out space for the magnifier could be a bit larger.

I would expect better. it would be more use full if it was bigger but it would be good for reading on a plane
