A Garment Bag That Doesn't Travel
I was hoping this garment bag would be a larger and sturdier version of the original print garment bag that would match the rolling luggage pieces in black. Unfortunately, it's made of a thinner exterior fabric and not lined like the rolling luggage, giving it a much cheaper appearance.
What really bothers me about this piece is that it has none of the handy features of the original print garment bag. Yes, it holds hangers of clothing while hanging upright, but there isn't a way of securing the hangers in the elastic loops causing all of the clothing to fall and pile in the bottom of the bag when in use. The original garment bag has a fabric tie that secures the necks of the hangers. This bag does indeed have a fabric tie at the top, but it's purpose is a mystery as it doesn't secure the hangers together.
And the biggest insult is there's no obvious way to attach the two ends of the bag together to secure it in a folded position! The fabric tie mentioned earlier doesn't secure the handles together either. I actually had to bind the handles together at the last minute with packing tape in order to check it in at the airport.
And if that weren't enough, there are no zippered pockets for additional storage or to store the dettachable closet hook like the original garment bag. So this garment bag doesn't keep the clothes secured in the bag, can't be secured in a folded position, and doesn't hold anything else (including the closet hook) in the form of pockets. What exactly is the purpose of this garment bag?
