Turn Lock Satchel
Love the bag, But bad experience
I love the turn lock satchel. I got in Clementine and while it is beautiful i have had two bad experiences with this bag. The first one threads where coming lose all through out the bag so I returned it and exchanged it for the same bag. Now with my second, the handles have come undone from the bag and I am not a heavier packer or anything all I carry is my phone, wallet, small cosmetic, and keys. So I am going to have to go exchange it for the second time and am probably going to get the mandy because am scared the same problem will happen if I exchange it for another turn lock satchel. I wish it didn't because the bag in this style is beautiful.

I own two of the original bowler style purses that have been retired. I was upset when they re-designed the style, because the reviews were not so great. When I saw the new bowler, I just had to have it. And I am so glad I decided to make the purchase! It is perfect; as true to the original as can be! The turn lock on the front is just adorable, and, true to Vera fashion, the pockets galore inside are perfect for organization. I am so thankful Vera Bradley listened to their customers and re-designed the much loved bowler! Now I'm going to have to purchase more patterns in this style :) The bowler is, in my opinion, the absolute perfect Vera style; not too big or too small. Thank you, Vera Bradley!

My favorite Vera bag ever!
This is THE best Vera bag I've ever had, and I've had a LOT! I love all the pockets. It's so easy to keep my stuff organized and easily accessible. The front turn lock pocket is perfect for my ipad mini. It slips right in, even with the leather case on it. It's secure and protected. The back zipper pocket is plenty big enough for my keys and iphone (in it's otterbox). The main compartment holds my turn lock wallet, small and medium cosmetic bags with ample room for items in the smaller inner pockets. The handles are great for over the shoulder or carrying in the crook of your elbow. I really just cannot say enough about this bag. I receive compliments on it often. You won't be disappointed!

The new & improved bowler!!
I am so glad that they redesigned the bowler, the original bowler was my favorite handbag. I think this is definitely my new favorite. It has so many inside pockets and two outside pockets for organization. The straps are the perfect length for you to carry it on your shoulder. If you loved the original bowler, I promise you will love this one. Thank you Vera Bradley!!

I love this bag which I purchased in Midnight Blues. The colors are beautiful, the bag in roomy and it has so many pockets (my bags must have inside and outside pockets) to keep me organized! I love that all the pockets are deep so my things don't easily fall out. I used to use only one bag until it wore out but I'm now obsessed with VB bags and purchased three bags within a year and a half. Their sales and customer service are great too!

This is the perfect bag to carry all your essentials and more!. I bought this one in Cranberry Magenta color, the color of the season! No digging around to find things, everything fits neatly. The 6 pockets inside the purse conveniently hold things like sunglasses, keys and pens. The outside turn-lock pocket is perfect for my phone or my tablet and also this purse has an exterior zipper pocket on the back where I store all my coupons. I am in love with this purse, the color is absolutely gorgeous.

V.B.'s Turn Lock Satchel is Tres Chic!
I love everything about this new bag, including its very attractive silhouette. I bought this bag in the Canterbury Magenta, and I am extremely pleased with my choice. It is a very smart looking bag, and I feel very chic carrying it. Also, the organizational capabilities of this bag are just wonderful, as well as limitless and that includes both the interior, as well as the exterior of the bag. Although I own a few of the newer version of the Bowler bag and have been quite satisfied with them, this updated version of the Bowler bag IMHO is heads and shoulders above that one in both looks, as well as in functionality.

Great handbag for organization!
This bag is by far the most amazing I have seen since the original bowler. I have stopped carrying the old bowler for the Turn Lock Satchel. This bag has a wonderful amount of pockets for the woman who likes to be super organized. The turn lock pocket on the outside is able to have my galaxy s3 and my keys which has a campus double id on it so my keys are not exactly small. In the main compartment there are small pockets which I use for small lotion, pencils/pens, eye glass case, and other necessities. The zip pocket on the inside I carry kleenex and my Vera coin purse. I am so in love I have bought two of these bags. One is Canterberry Magenta and the other in Bittersweet and they are gorgeous. I plan on buying one each time new colors come out. Outstanding job on this design.

LOVE this new bag
I can't believe that I'm actually going to say this but I love bag this even more than the original Bowler.
That was my absolute favorite bag and when I discovered it I purchased as many as I could before it went away.
I read the reviews on the "new" Bowler and thought well surely it's not that bad and got one. Yeah, definitely NOT as good as the original.
Fast forward to the Turn Lock Satchel and low and behold it's even better! So much so that it got me to actually write a review, which I don't think I have ever done.
I will agree with one of the other reviewers, I would like an exterior slip pocket just big enough for a phone but that is so minor in comparison to all the other features.
I will be buying it in more colors!!
THANK YOU Vera Bradley for listening to your customers.

My favorite Vera handbag
Full disclosure: I am kind of obsessed with this bag. I tend to favor cross-body bags, but when this first came out and I saw it in the store in Venetian Paisley, I was oddly drawn to it, and try though I did to resist, ultimately I couldn't, and the bag came home with me.
The particulars: The picture on the site is a bit misleading, and it does a real disservice to the style. While it does have corners, they are not quite as pronounced as in the image and appear much more rounded in person. The picture, to me, makes it look a little dated, almost like a small carpet bag, but it actually is quite stylish. If you are a person who likes to organize her bag, this has six slip pockets on the inside plus a zippered compartment so you can organize your odds and ends. On the back there is another zippered compartment, and the front has a very roomy compartment with the turnlock detailing. The flap completely covers this section so that it is very secure, and the lock itself is sturdy enough that I feel comfortable putting just about anything in that pocket.
Specifically about the turnlock: I like having easy to access sections on the outsides of bags for things I want to grab quickly, like my phone, or my shopping list at the grocery store, and so I really like the roomy front compartment. All too often, even on Vera bags, these sections are magnetized. I don't know if you've ever demagnetized a credit card on a purse magnet, but I have, and avoid them like the plague, so this feature to me is very nice. So far, with pretty frequent turning, the lock hasn't loosened up enough to cause me any concern about security.
The strap drop is about equivalent to the Glenna - if I am wearing no jacket, or a light jacket, it stays comfortably on my shoulder without dropping. With a heavy coat, it will drop, but I see that as pretty typical with shoulder bags and am not annoyed by it. The rolled handles are comfortable, and even when fully loaded, the bag doesn't dig into my shoulder, nor do the straps bother the crook of my elbow if I carry it that way.
And when fully loaded, this bag holds a lot! I always carry my writslet (as a wallet), a large sunglass case, cell phone, keys compact, hand lotion, and various lip products, and then usually I have my "mommy" items, like a book or two, a toy, snacks and a bottle/cup, and it all fits comfortably, and the east/west styling makes it so I don't feel like I am digging like crazy to get something.
One minor complaint: unlike the Glenna, whose zipper is straight across the top, this zipper goes pretty far down on the sides. The downside of this is, if you are in a rush and need to grab something out with it on your arm, if you are just holding one handle, it can get a little precarious. Since it does have two zippers, I deal with this by trying to keep one above where it drops off so I can keep the bag closed on one side and nothing falls out when I open the other zipper.
To summarize, I love the way this bag looks - very typically Vera, and very classy. It holds a lot and wears very well. I've already ordered another and plan to get more in the future when new patterns come out!
