Frame Travel Bag
Wonderful new "Normal" travel bag!
Just received my bag today in Tutti Frutti and I love it! I put the bag up next to my normal carry-on and this new VB bag is smaller. Appreciate the long strap that is removable with good padding for top of my shoulder, the sleeve to slide the suitcase handle thru and overall light weight for such a large bag. Will put heavier items in suitcase and lots of light-weight items in carry-on. The two zippers to open/close my bag are of good quality. Inside the bag are wonderful larger size pockets. Prefer this bags sizing more than my Large Duffels bags or the Getaway Travel Tote. Thanks to all involved in designing such a fine new "normal" carry-on for me and other people.

Frame Travel Bag
I recently purchased this bag at an outlet store. I was thrilled to get it at reduced price, but would have purchased at regular amount. I do a lot of road trips and long weekends. It has room for everything I need, including my kindle and charger! I love the deep inner pockets and the way it opens up fully. The long shoulder step is a life saver. I also love the colorful fall parr ten of the fabric. I'm looking forward to many years of use. This beats the old giant gym bag I had been using for these trips hands down!

Frame Bag > XL Duffel
I just received today after much anticipation and am almost excited to travel again to use it!
I fly Southwest a lot and often take 2 bags to accomodate me and my daughter. Prior to now I was using an XL Vera Duffel for my second bag.
I thought I'd love the duffel but my issues with it were these:
Straps: Had to be tied before flying everytime. Not a big deal but when you have an infant in your arms or in your carrier it's tough to squat down and do so last minute when you remember.
Shape: Couldn't really see what you were storing in the sides and couldn't easily access everything. You basically have to put things in and push them into the sides.
No handle slot: When you're trying to walk through the airport with the duffel on top of your suitcase, it often falls off causing the whole suitcase to flop to the ground. Not awesome with a child.
On to this spectacular design!
I purchased this because I saw the slot on the side for pulling the suitcase handle up through and was SO excited! It's such a silly little thing but seriously, I don't know how many times my husband or I have had the duffel fall off the top of the suitcase and slip down to the floor dragging everything down with it.
Shape: This bag opens to an open rectangular shape with the frame. It actually reminds me of those 31 frame bags everyone seems to have but this has the benefit of being able to close and zip up. Because it opens completely up, you can see everything and access everything instead of having to pull things out to get to other things.
Pockets: LAWD, the pockets! Duffel, Y U NO HAVE POCKETS?
Handles: Not only does this have two smaller handles, but it also has the optional long strap which is built really nicely and removable because you always have to remove those when you check them. This long strap is going to be a BILLION times more comfortable than the awkward long handles from the duffel.
Handle slot: IT HAS ONE. THIS IS BRILLIANT.
Volume: I'm not very mathy but I know how to do volume and when I calculated it compared to the duffel before purchasing it was MUCH larger inside. Upon receiving it, I can definitely confirm this.
I'm really looking forward to traveling with this, and can't believe I never noticed it sooner! This is a real find. Thanks, VB!

OLD TIMER LOVES THIS BAG
I have been a customer since the summer of 1983 when i discovered Vera bags at a seaside shop...............and what a bright colorful collection i have amassed.............BUT I have always missed the structure of a suitcase when using all my travel duffels............and now you have given me my DREAM BAG.....it has the structure i wanted but still the light weight for this retired arthritic body..............and it is spacious if you need the extra room...........................i have several .................and if need be a quick hose off in the yard took care of some travel dirt that was hard to spot clean ........................perfect car . bus. train travel bag........i do not fly so that is left to other reviews ......but a GREAT BIG HUG TO VERA BRADLEY for giving me the best bag of my collection.....would love a matching smaller size too.

Note to 'roadrunner'
The slot you are referring to, that you don't know it's purpose, can slip over the handle on another piece of luggage, preferably a roller....that way you can hold the handle on the roller and rest the frame bag on top.

Bigger than expected! A great bag.
I have one Frame Travel Bag and 2 duffel bags and love them all. They all hold much more than I expected and store using very little of my limited space. I love that they are washable. One question I have though: On the outside of the Travel bag, there is a slide-in pocket which is wonderful. I thought there was another pocket on the other side until I tried to put something in it...no bottom! It isn't a 2nd exterior pocket so what is this for? I'd have preferred another slip-in pocket than just part of one that doesn't seem to serve any purpose.

Great bag for traveling light!
I just purchased this bag for a 3 week trip. I was able to fit my MacBook Air, iPad mini, 2 pairs of shoes and 2 pairs of sandals, 3 pairs of jeans, 3 pairs of shorts, 10 tops, and a book. I am really impressed with this bag so far, and I recommend buying it.

Larger than imagined
I really liked the description of this bag---and the novelty of the frame design, however, when it arrived---whoa!! it is way larger than I expected---so, I will not be taking this on a plane--it will need to be for car travel only as I am unable to carry heavy items...a smaller version would be PERFECT!!

Bag for airplane travel
This bag is a bit large for under the seat of a plane, the Metropolitan works very well could even be a couple inches longer, I am retired and do not have a laptop with me; however, I love the slot for the computer, I put my jacket in that slot, I do end up with a full what I call travel purse, I love the slot that slips over my roll on bag, please revise the Metropolitan for those of us that want a large "purse" that zips and is secure for travel, but do not need such a monster, not sure that I like the vinyl or leather look could do without that, somehow it cheapens the look on an otherwise lovely bag. I would rather see micro-fiber fabric for a contrast, and I know that faux leather is the rage just not for eveyone.

This bag will fit under the seat on the plane, but not if you pack it full. You can not get into the bag unless you unzip it all the way. If I had it to do over i probably would not get this bag. I absolutly love every bag I have gotten but not so much on this one. if you pack it full it will be cumbersome. I love the slot on the back that slips over the handle on my full size bag. I love the pockets. I recommend this bag with reservations
