Carry-On Rolling Satchel 3.3 5 7 7
Worst Vera Bradley item I ever bought! This rolling bag is a total disaster on wheels! The handle is too lightweight and does not pull straight if you are walking fast-it tends to roll from side to side. The handle takes up a considerable amount of space inside the bag. AND to add insult to injury; the fabric got a big hole in it the very first time I used it. Also, you cannot set the bag on end and let go of it, because it falls over on it's side. This is a real disaster compared to the previous Vera pull bag that I had in Java Blue that was wonderful. March 20, 2013
Love the Rolling Satchel I recently went on two air trips back to back. This Rolling Satchel was awesome, It packed me for a weekend including shoes and my cloths didn't wrinkle. It has a zipped pocket inside and small mesh pockets for holding things in place. Outside I could hold my headphones and Ipod for quick access. When I walked down the center isle of the plane there was a great deal of clearance no hitting side to side on the seats. I didn't have to use the over head bin, I simply placed in under the seat in front of me and that was that ! Awesome, worked each time on a 737 and 757 flight. Since I travel often I won't use anything else for a carry on ! February 13, 2013
Not Up to VB Usual Standards I bought this item at a local VB shop because of its extremely light weight (it is not quilted) and, if not packed too full, it will fit under most airplane seats. The bag itself is well constructed but it does not usually remain upright on its own regardless of how much is packed inside or how the contents are arranged. Also, it is terrible to push or pull along because it continually flips over. The problem seems to be a poorly designed frame. I own a lot of VB, including rolling luggage, and this is the first time I have been disappointed in the quality of a piece. I would never recommend this carry-on. It cost way too much to be so poorly designed. January 3, 2013
Worst piece of luggage I ever bought I was so excited when I bought this Satchel. The sales associate recommended the weekender as a nice addition as it would slide onto the pull handle and I wouldn't have to carry it separately. It was a DISASTER. The rolling satchel doesn't stand on its own. If you let go of the handle, the satchel falls over. In addition, it isn't stable when rolling it. It frequently becomes wobbly causing frequent stops to rebalance. It is a very poor design. The weekender DOES NOT stay on top of the satchel, it rolls around. I ended up having to carry it on my shoulder--not what I was prepared to do. I was frustrated the entire trip. Everytime I stopped I had to lean the Satchel against a wall before I could let go of it. Once it fell over and almost caused an elderly lady to trip and fall. Biggest waste of money I EVER spent. The Best Weekender Yet! My favorite Vera travel piece has always been the "Weekender", I honestly didn't think that it could be any better until this new one came out with wheels and coated fabric, I Love it! You can carry it on the plane along with your carry on luggage as it will fit under the seat. Since my weekender is always a little heavier on the way back home, I love that it has wheels and a hidden handle, not so heavy on my shoulder any more. If I could make one change, it would be to use the same coated fabric for the inside pockets in place of the mesh pockets, as things don't slide in and out as easy with the mesh. Looking forward to seeing this in more colors in the future, and matching accessories using the same coated fabric, it is a perfect travel piece! :-) November 3, 2012
If you already have a weekender... you probably don't need to get this. I won one during Vera's birthday celebration and compared it to my weekender when I got home. To me it is like a nylon, rolling weekender, and I don't need to have two so I exchanged this for the 22 inch rolling carry on. Also, the shape of this bag is not very conducive to carrying another bag on top of it using the T-Bar because almost anything you put on top of it would be larger than this bag and it would hang over the sides. To sum it up, this is a very cute bag but if you already have a weekender, or you need to travel with more than one bag, you should get the rolling carry on instead. August 12, 2012
Great addition to Vera's travel line :-) I've been very happy using the Weekender plus a largish tote or backpack for short trips, but decided to try this new piece in Indigo Pop. WOW! It has much more space than the Weekender, but isn't as bulky as the Grand Traveler, plus... it rolls! I really like the fact that the handle COMPLETELY disappears and the piece can function as a real "carry-on," avoiding last minute gate checks. The padded handle grip and the shape make carrying it comfortable. I have not traveled with it yet, but I packed all the items from my last trip with a Weekender and there was room to spare - enough for shoes and more. I have not had any VB luggage before so I was a bit surprised that this was not quilted but rather a coated fabric? Don't see that noted in the description anywhere. In the end, I'm really happy with that,-- just in case it must be checked, could be cleaned more easily. The pockets- one full length zip and two opposing mesh - are well placed and useful. the handle glides in and out easily and is comfortable, the wheels work well with a full load. Of course, durability is a question until it's actually been through a lot of trips but right now I am extremely happy that I chose this piece. July 18, 2012
