Good if it's what you're looking for.....
I was interested in this bag when I first saw it in the stores because it looked nice and easy to keep clean and was extremely lightweight. However, the price tag was enough to scare me off on what felt like a "novelty".
When the cobalt showed up on a local store rack at 50% off I snatched it without another thought. I figured the somewhat more rain/snow repellant fabric would be good for this winter (had no idea how much that would be needed!) and it seemed to have ample space for everything I needed. I was carrying a Canterberry Magenta On The Go at the time and it fit all of that and then some.
1. Lightweight beyond belief...
2. Outside zipper pocket is very deep and contents generally feel protected.
3. Inside compartment is HUGE and has two nice size pockets sewn in.
4. Strap is extremely adjustable. It goes from a comfortable shoulder length to a very comfortable array of cross body lengths. It's smooth to adjust (probably because of the seatbelt material) but it also stays in place wherever you put it.
5. Sturdy. I haven't had any problems with anything falling apart/pulling apart. The stitching in the "puffy" is getting a little "pulled"/"snagged" look in some places, but for the amount of stitching detail I don't see a problem.
6. Stuffs very well...this bag just looks nicer when it grows vs looking like a duffel bag. Well done!
1. No inside zipper pocket. That's definitely something I've been spoiled by with the new On The Go, my Cassidy, my Little Hipster...why wasn't it put in this one?
2. The inside and front pocket are almost TOO huge. Many times I've had to dig a LOT of things out of my bag (think Mary Poppins) to find what I was looking for. A zipper pocket would help that a ton. Or at least more pockets on the other side inside. The front pocket could probably be shortened a bit instead of running the entire front of the bag (zipper to bottom). I can go past my wrist in that pocket and that seems a bit much for something that should be easy access.
3. The fabric is getting, surprisingly, grungy looking in not a whole lot of time. Parts of it almost look like I rubbed newsprint on it and it's the Cobalt so it's a pretty dark blue to start with. I would hate to think of what the Olive Green or a lighter color would look like right now. And, of course, it's spot clean only so no throwing it in the washer.
4. Lack of pocket reinforcement... I'm seeing a lot of sag out of the inside pockets, but this seems to be how the course is going with Vera moving away from really quilting and stitching the pockets vs using a few layers of fabric. It just doesn't hold up...esp the polyester.
What I have in it right now:
The front zipper: My iPhone 5 in a Hybrid Hardshell case, Burts Bee's Spray Hand Sanitizer, a pocket pack of tissues, two lip balms, a pen, three sharpies, some cash, and my small pill holder (non VB). <---Yes, this is ALL in the front zipper pocket)
The main compartment: Small Zip Around Wallet, Button Coin Purse, Accuchek Nano Meter (in the case), 4x1" LED flashlight, two purse packs of tissues, Glucose tablets, several small pill containers, my VB Travel Pill Holder (the three vial one, not the 7 day one), an EpiPen, a protein bar, purse size perfume, a wedge eraser, three pens, two chopsticks, a lens cloth, and my VB Kisslock Manicure Kit.
The main compartment pockets: Two VB mechanical pencils, a large twist BP pen, my emergency medical info and insurance cards and the VB Business Card holder stuffed to the brim.
Yes, ALL of this I got into this bag...and it has pretty much every single thing I need (I've even managed to get my Kindle Paperwhite (in the Kindle specific case) in there with all of this). Again, the downside being it can get OVER packed so if you are looking for small items that you can't get into the pockets or get to STAY in the pockets (like individual meds or something of that sort), finding things is really a pain.
However, if you want a lightweight bag that can be worn multiple ways, carry tons without looking ridiculous and have some more adverse weather survival ability than the basic fabric, this is a good investment. If you don't want to fill it much, don't like digging some to find what you want, and don't like a bag that won't go into the washer when it's getting a bit dingy (which, again, this one does FAST for some reason), I'd give this a pass.

I bought my first puffy crossbody in Blue Bayou because I fell in love with how it looked. I love it. It holds a lot more than I thought it would. I put chapstick, tic tacs, all in one crossbody, my checkbook, manicure kit, my keys, my cell phone, a pen, my pill case, my heart shaped coin purse, and a few other things. The great thing is when I wear it, it isn't heavy! Its also very comfortable against your hip as well. I went back and bought the Cocoa moss one on sale and the Clementine one. I just couldn't resist! I am sure I will be buying more of these!

I LOVE this bag - please make more puffy products!
For years, I've been looking for a lightweight cross body purse that I could use in wet weather, having to switch out of my VB bags in the rain and snow. The first time I used this bag was in a blizzard. I walked home for a half hour in wet snow and this bag wiped off and everything inside the bag was completely dry. It's beautiful. Please make more puffy products!

Cute alternative to a typical Vera purse/bag
This purse made me love the new color Blue Bayou! I love the black accent on it, it really makes the blues and white pop! I did not pay attention to the measurements of the bag before I put it on my birthday wishlist, but I still believe that it is comparable in size to the regular hipster. The bottom is actually much wider than the hipster, therefore my wallet fits better in this bag (tried it with the Turn lock wallet first, and now have the new Sleek and Chic wallet, both fit just fine) the only noticeable difference is that it is "shorter" than the hipster, but I have not had any trouble fitting a bunch of stuff into it. The strap on it seems much longer too, which I like! The fabric seems to be holding up so far and it's perfect for rainy or snowy weather since the fabric doesn't absorb moisture. I really love my new crossbody and am hoping it holds up despite other reviewers comments of bad luck.

Two things stand out about this bag: 1) definitely not the size advertised (it's much smaller); and, 2) not well made.
It's very concerning that this bag has several thread unravelings in less than one week. Also, the material, while lightweight, is too lightweight. In other words, it doesn't hold its shape and looks just awful because of that. It feels like I'm carrying a plastic bag from a grocery store, and when set down, it looks like a plastic bag from a grocery store.
This bag is small. It is not the size noted on the Vera Bradley web site. It is roughly two inches shorter and about one inch less in height. Because of its size and design, it's very difficult to open it wide enough to see or find anything.
Therefore, the quality is, frankly, shameful.
It's a great idea not done well.

good bag - holds a lot!
I was hesitant about the 'puffy' but I LOVE the color, and being able to take winter weather is a big plus as well. This bag holds a lot! I wish it had another pocket - esp. with a zipper - on the inside, in addtion to the 2 pouches along one side, but ... The outside zip pocket is very handy, and almost holds too much. The bright lining helps to find items inside - glad that is not dark. I think the weight of how much you carry can affect the stitching holding the zipper. I have a lot inside mine, but it seems fine so far. I wish more styles came in this Cobalt color, and/or Sapphire. I wish Vera had more bags with 'expandable depth' like this - you can only fit so many even flat items in those bags just 2" or so wide.

Flimsy and Not Well Made
I was looking forward to purchasing and using this bag. After one week of occasional use, the stitching is coming apart in two locations including around the zipper.
Additionally, it is very flimsy. I know polyester is a material that doesn't necessarily "holds it's frame" well, but this bag is much more flimsy then expected. If it is not filled to the brim, the top of the bag folds over leaving creases that can't be removed, thus making the bag look more worn than it is.
Most concerning is the advertised size of the bag: 13-1/2 " x 10-1/2"...this is not true. Even with the bag full, it doesn't stretch to those dimensions. It is actually more like 11" x 9"...
I like the lightweight feel and style (look/shape) of the Puffy Crossbody, but this isn't a bag I can use because it is not made well (see above), and the size is too small. And I am concerned that the advertised dimensions are quite different than the actual bag.

I do not know how well this will hold up long-term, but I've carried it daily for over a month, and it still looks great. I bought it for a trip, and just kept carrying it at home because I like it so much. I wish it had more pockets (esp an interior zip), but otherwise, I love this bag. I had the black hipster and on the go, and didn't like the stiff strap or the heaviness of the bag. This strap is much more comfortable, and it really is very light to carry. I weighed it and it's about 7 oz. It's hard to find something so light in a solid color with this much size (the black on the go weighs almost twice as much).
I am ordering a second one for back up, but I hope Vera adds a pocket or two and never discontinues this great bag!

Versatile, weather friendly, roomy bag
Treated myself to the Olivia puffy cross body for my bday. Took a chance and broke out of my comfort zone and decided to try the puffy fabric. I was not disappointed ! The Olivia fabric was vibrant in color, the inside was a bright fuschia color. I was surprised at how much this bag holds: fits my wallet, make up bag which is the small vb cosmetic bag, room for two pairs glasses. And room left to stash a small bag of snacks. The strap can also be easily adjusted to a shoulder strap. There's also a small zippered front pocket which securely holds a cell phone or keys. This bag handled the rain with no problem, and dried right away. Hoping they'll make the puffy in more colors.

Love the bag, but poorly constructed
I have had this bag for a few weeks and notice that flimsy stitching at the ends of the zipper has come out leaving the zipper useless. I'm very disappointed because I was enjoying using this very practical and attractive bag.
