Gorgeous bag but the straps :(
Absolutely gorgeous bag with a pretty scalloped edging. Great size. But oh dear, the straps. I have rheumatoid arthritis and this caused my shoulders terrible distress because they cut right into the joint - I had a lightweight card holder, my sunglasses, a box of mints, a pen and small pad, my meds, and a small bottle of water ....... I couldn't stand it, it was so uncomfortable. Sad, because it looked so good.

I LOVE this bag!
I bought this tote right before a trip to Florida. I jammed it full of stuff and it held up great. I use it for my everyday purse now. I find it very sturdy and I get compliments on it all the time. I've been very happy with it. Some reviews said the straps were too thin. Maybe if they were a little wider that would be nice, but it really doesn't bother me and the straps don't cut into my shoulder.

Works for me
I purchased this tote in a store - I like a tote that makes it easy to throw in things like a wallet, toiletry bag, eye glass case, kid wipes, mini note book - so the thin straps are well able to handle the weight. To me, the scalloped edges make the style unique, the color is extra BOLD, and the PVC makes it easy care. Win-win for me for a purse. I would think it would not be a good school or work tote (may not hold the weight.) I am going for both colors I am so enamored. Enjoy!

Great idea, but misses the mark
I saw this tote in the store and was instantly drawn to it. The Flower Shower pattern looked more vibrant that on the quilted material. The scalloped edging was adorable. I could deal with the lack of multiple inside pockets. But those straps! My first impression was that the straps didn't look in proportion to the bag ... very narrow. My second thought was that the straps would not hold up under any weight; they almost felt stretchy. Finally, where the straps attached to the bag didn't appear to be well secured. I chose not to purchase the tote, but would definitely reconsider if VB redesigns the straps.

I bought this in Flower Shower. It's a beautiful bag. Love the scalloped detail. My first bag had a little too much of the yellow-ish color, so I returned to the store and the saleslady was kind enough to take out all the bags she had and let me choose the one I liked. I almost decided to get the Petal Paisley bag thinking I wouldn't like any of the Flower Shower bags, but I did find the perfect one. I love it!
I was really debating on whether to keep my bag or not after reading the reviews but I have no problems with it. The handles do not cut into me. But more pockets would have been a bonus. It holds everything I need and I'm known to stuff my bags to the gills! Thankfully, Vera Bradley bags are not heavy so all my stuff isn't as bad in a Vera bag versus a heavy leather bag. My iPad goes everywhere with me so it holds my iPad, iPod, heavy wallet, cosmetics, glasses, water, book....just to name a few things I carry. I do plan to use this bag during my summer vacation. Really looking forward to summer, the beach, and using my new bag more!

Too skinny straps, no substance to this bag...
I really wanted to like this bag, saw it on a preview and loved the colors, especially the bright interior. It arrived in a separate box from my other items and when I opened it I was so disappointed. The material is thick but flimsy and is just poorly designed, in my opinion.
The colors are bright and vivid, that's about all it has going for it besides the pretty scalloped top. The inside boasts a whopping 1 pocket so I knew I'd have to use my other, smaller, bags inside to contain my items. When I saw the straps online, I knew they would be skinny, but they are almost comically skinny compared to the rest of the bag. I know that VB is trying to stay with current styles in doing this, but the usability of the bag is diminished because the straps dig into your should when the bag is only lightly filled. Secondly, the straps are held in place by plastic rivets. These bow out when the bag is more heavily filled and I can only imagine they will rip/tear the PVC material quickly.
I tried to put in this bag the following: Large Hipster with my wallet & car keys, small VB makeup bag, about 1/2 filled with cosmetics and some personal items. A yearly calendar book (about 3/4 inch thick), a folder and a water bottle. This was the "light load". Immediately the straps started hurting my shoulder and the plastic rivets pulled the PVC sort of inward while pushing the top of the bag sides outward...not the look I was hoping for.
I added an accordion file (about 1" thick but lightweight), my Kindle and a lightweight sweater. All of this still didn't fill the bag, there was plenty of room. But picking it up, the straps hurt my hand first, then my shoulder and the rivets made the material buckle in even more.
While I love the idea of this bag, the completed product needs to be re-worked to make it usable for someone who wants to carry something in it without hurting their shoulder or hands. The rivets will clearly not withstand the weight and will likely rip the PVC rather quickly. This is the first VB item I have ever returned the same day I received it, just not able to make it work for me.
Thanks for reading!

Meh, it's okay...
I didn't love this tote after seeing it online, but loved the feel of it when I tried it in the store. The scalloped edges and the Flower Shower print did me in and I bought it! Then, I put my work supplies in it and realized that the skinny straps cut into my shoulder when the bag had any actual weight to it. Also, if I put anything in the one pocket on the inside, it constantly pulled that side of the bag down and made it look odd. Compared to my fave tote, the Vera style, it didn't measure up. Would be a cute beach tote, but since I hardly ever go to the beach, it's too expensive to buy for that purpose. It's going back.

Missed the boat
This bag is very cute and I like the easy to clean material. However, it needs more pockets!! How about several inside and outside! It would have been perfect for a beach tote--but I like to keep things organized, even at the beach! Pockets for cell phones, sunglasses, water bottles and, yes, my ipad, would have made this the perfect travel tote for the summer!
I love Vera Bradley bags due to the organizational pockets as well as the fun prints.
