Beautiful Bag!!
I just got my bag today and WOW!! I love is so much, I can't wait to carry it. I am so excited I am thinking a buying the 27" spinner. The bag is larger than I expected. I bought the boysenberry. This is my first piece of Vera Bradley luggage.

Excellent as a carry-on or even every day use.
I was really impressed by the 17" Roll Along Tote. From looking at the pictures and reading about the features I learned that it had everything I really needed and when I went comparison shopping I was measuring everything else against this bag. I needed a carry-on bag that had wheels with a telescoping handle and a regular handle as well so it could be carried as needed (for stairs, etc.). I do international travel for work at least once a year and since other countries have a smaller max carry-on size I wanted to make sure it wasn't too large for that purpose. Also was hoping for something that was checkpoint friendly and had a trolley sleeve so I could put it on top of a larger (checked) piece of luggage.
When I got the bag I immediately fell in love with it. The bag is of very good quality, the material is strong and the wheels look like they can take a bit of a beating. If you didn't notice in the photos there are loads of pockets which is great to keep everything organized. I like that when I go through security at the airports I can open up the front panel, lay the front flat with my laptop in it, just pull my iPad out of the big interior pocket and do all of this without showing everyone any clothes that I pack in the big compartment. I always carry at least a few large electronics so any help I can get in not pulling everything out and packing it all back in is appreciated. The main compartment in the back loses a little space due to the handles but you can still fit quite a few things in there.
I got this in Mocha Rouge and like how attractive it is: the pattern, patent handles, logo badge, quality zippers, and the "quilting" are all nice, feminine touches. If I have to start carrying more than usual into work I wouldn't mind using this on a daily basis and I think this is a good option for someone who needs or chooses to use a rolling bag for commuting to work.
As if this wasn't enough Vera Bradley throws in some nice extra perks to make it worth your while, including a 3-1-1 compliant matching cosmetic bag, a lock, and a luggage cover.
I haven't used it enough for it to get really dirty yet so I'm going to have to see if cleaning it presents a challenge later. It might have been nice if Vera Bradley gave some cleaning tips.
I've seen some comments that its not a very big bag, and that is fair assessment. If you're looking for a bag that will hold a week's worth of clothes that you don't have to check, this isn't for you. I like that this is a little on the smaller side, stops you from over-packing a bag that you have to throw in an overhead compartment and in my case I wanted to use this for international travel which doesn't allow large bags anyway.
The next size up that Vera Bradley offers at the moment is 22". However, its slightly too large to use as a carry-on for domestic flights. Flights usually don't allow carry-ons bigger than 45 linear inches and the 22" is 45.25" based on the published measurements. Add some bloat from packing it and you are a bit over the limit. Thats not to say you would get stopped at the gate, but I think traveling can be a bit stressful as it is, do you really want to have to worry about it?
I usually prefer luggage with spinner wheels, but honestly I don't think this is big enough to need spinner wheels. I think it would just add unnecessary bulk and weight.
Besides being slightly worried about cleaning it the only other complaint I have is I couldn't seem to get the lock to work, but honestly, I don't think I would have used it so that didn't affect my overall rating and thoughts about this piece. That and I wish they'd continue to make it in other patterns. Looks like this is unfortunately being discontinued.

Best Little Bag I Know
I fell in love with the look and finally found one and it is AWESOME!! With the laptop side in the front I don't have to unload the whole bag and with the separate compartments it is easy to carry all my techno-junk. It fits in just about any overhead in a plane and it's just a gorgeous bag.

Perfect Carry on
This is perfect to carry your laptop and jewelry or other things you don't want to check on the plane. It fits perfectly under the seat and in the overhead on most planes (you will have to check it on the small express/regional jets). You simply unzip the front pocket and lay the laptop section flat on the belt as you go through security. No more fumbling to load and unload the computer. The included quart-size clear bag is perfect for your liquids and gels. While I do like the Vera patterns, this is also available in black in the stores. It's so chic and I get compliments every time I use it.

Great rolling laptop tote
This rolling tote is perfect for everyday commuting into the office with laptop and the many files I carry. I took this on my recent business trip to Hong Kong and it was perfect for my laptop, files, large cosmetic filled with chargers and power cords, a change of clothes and toiletries. A large water bottle fits in the roomy front pocket. This bag handled all of the rigors of international travel as a carry-on, along with my pleated tote. It fit in the overhead compartments and even under the seat on full flights. It handled wonderfully the sidewalks and the longer top handles made it easy to carry up and down the stairs of the many elevated walkways in Hong Kong. The only features I haven't tried is the trolley pocket on the back, as I had a large suitcase with a short handle. I used a hook on the straps of the tote to carry this tote piggyback on the large suitcase and that worked fine. The lock that came with didn't work. I purchased a better one with a longer flexible cable that could then go through both sets of zippers to secure everything in both laptop and main compartment with one lock. No regrets with this purchase so far. They warranty the zippers and wheels, so it will be interesting to see how it holds up for me with very day use commuting to work. I love this size and shape for an everyday laptop tote. It is very functional for me compared to others I have used. Only improvement I can think of is add a small hook on the telescoping handle for me to flip out and hang my Vera tote bag or purse from while sitting or standing at the airport or standing in the taxi queue. It handled walking in the rain very well too, contents remained dry, but it wasn't a major downpour. Thank you Vera Bradley for great products!

Not a favorite
Really wanted to love this one but just can't recommend it. The clerk "sold" me on the ease of the laptop area. Well, once you get the laptop in it - it just makes the top so heavy that it collapses the top into the interior. Not happy with the interior room space either. But I am willing to accept that my expectations may have been too high and am looking to perhaps go with a larger roller bag. Newer "models" look more favorable.

Awesome for traveling
I have this bag, the 22 inch and the 26 inch. I was able to fit 4 changes of clothes along with my toiletries. There was limited space on the plane and this fit nicely under the seat in front and I still had plenty of leg room. I like that the wheels are recessed as it fits better in the overhead compartment, which I think would be problematic with spinners.

I see no reason for spinner wheels.
I have this case in black. It is perfect. Spinner wheels are dangerous and worsen back pain, especially when rolling down hill. There is no way to stop a spinner or even stand it up. If an airplane is crowded, push the suitcase in front of you. I love my black case, and I am now hoping to get the mocha rouge for my birthday.
