62,166 guests attend the 2009 Outlet Sale
Fort Wayne, Ind. (May 4, 2009) – 62,166 guests = 2nd largest Vera Bradley Outlet Sale in history! Guests from 49 states and eight countries were at the Vera Bradley Outlet Sale in Fort Wayne. Every state, aside from Alaska was represented, as well as registrants from Canada, Norway, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Uruguay and Uzbekistan.
Interesting facts:
- Nearly 20,000 registrants stated that they had never attended the sale before (via a survey when registering).
- Nearly 24,000 of the more than 51,000 registrants were from states other than Indiana
- Vera Bradley and Allen County War Memorial Coliseum staff both predict that this would have been the largest sale in history, had they not had to close the doors for hours at a time due to capacity issues on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday had twice the foot traffic each day of Wednesday and Thursday.
- The Vera Bradley store at Jefferson Pointe had three of its largest sale days in history during the Vera Bradley Outlet Sale
- Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center saw an increase in traffic.
“I believe several of our retailers benefited from the shoppers who visited us during the Outlet Sale. As I greeted the ladies and handed them Jefferson Pointe gift bags, they were very excited to be here, and were anxious to take full advantage of what our shopping center had to offer,” says Chris Ford, marketing manager at Jefferson Pointe shopping center.
The Fort Wayne/Allen County Convention and Visitor‘s Bureau is working on an estimated economic impact of the 2009 Vera Bradley Outlet Sale on the community.
