The company leases manufacturing facility in New Haven
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (August 15, 2008) – Vera Bradley, designer of handbags, luggage and accessories, is in negotiations of a lease for a 125,356 square-foot manufacturing facility in New Haven; the company plans to hire 490 employees over the next 24 months.
“This is an important step in our plan to integrate previously outsourced manufacturing into our operation,” says Mike Ray, chief executive officer. “We are happy to have found the facility right here in Allen County.”
Preparation and improvement of the facility, located at 2808 Adams Center Road, will begin in September. Upon completion, the building will house the company’s manufacturing functions and host approximately 560 jobs, 70 of which will come from existing Vera Bradley facilities.
“Many factors were weighed in selecting this site, including the support of the City of New Haven,” says Jill Nichols, chief operating officer.
