PLEASE bring back the old bowler I just purchased the new bowler in Heather and Jazzy Blooms because I caught them on sale at over half off. I kept looking and deciding against it because I have the original bowler in two patterns and it has always been my favorite bag and I was unsure about the new one. Upon arrival today, I have the new one organized and haven't carried it to know how I'll like it, but can definitely say so far it doesn't hold its shape as well and the top design is not nearly as functional. It's as though the two panels are flat and pulled together which changes the functionality of the bag. I really hope Vera Bradley re-thinks this design and goes back to the original bowler. Your loyal bowler customers would be very grateful. April 17, 2014
Great bag for someone who needs organization I got tired of carrying expense, heavy, leather designer handbags that were killing my arms so my daughter talked me into looking at Vera Bradley - which she loves. After looking at several of the handbags in the collection I chose the Bowler because of the longer handles. I have been carrying the bag now for a month and I love it. I can put anything in it, there are inside pockets for almost anything you want to have handy. Plus there are 2 nice size pockets on the outside, one I use to hold my iPhone in it's case and the other my eyeglass case which is a larger size - 2 things I need to grab quickly. On the other side of the bag there is another outside deep pocket with a zipper where I can keep items I also need quickly but want secured. Plus it's awesome to have a handbag unzip down on the sides where I can just reach into it and grab what I need when I'm in the car. What can I say, I love the Bowler bag design and recommend it for busy moms. Oh and yes, the bag is at a good weight to begin with so my arm and shoulder no longer hurt. August 5, 2013
The worst thing is the name!! I think there was some level of expectations set when I read the name. I assumed it would be as large as the older Bowler. But, it's not not not. The older Bowler is a lot larger. The other major difference is the pockets, the new bowler has a lot more interior pockets. But, the old Bowler has a large exterior zip pocket that's really nice. Both Bowlers are great bags, in my opinion. But, this bag shouldn't have been called a Bowler. It's just too different from the old one. With that said, I still think this is a great bag. It's large and does have lots of pockets for making me organized. There are three exterior pockets and 6 clip pockets and 1 zip pocket inside. My only complaint about this bag is that I wish it had an O ring sewn inside so I could clip my keys to it. I really don't like having to dig around inside my purse hunting for my keys. I know this isn't a typical feature of Vera Bradley bags, but so many of them come with an O ring some place on them. Seems this bag is missing out on that! March 19, 2012
