Perfect for a teacher I started teaching in Spetember 2011, and needed a "teacher bag." I had just gotten the Vera in July for my birthday, but had other things in mind for that bag, and honestly, with the amount of stuff I carry, the Vera was too small. Not long after I started teaching, Poppy Fields products were on sale. The price was right, and the bag was here in less than a week. When the bag got here, I was thrilled with the size. I am able to carry my school issued laptop (in a laptop sleeve), my charger, several folders and notebooks, my kindle (or traditional book), my lunch (in one of two Vera Bradley lunch bags), an umbrella, and a sweater. I should mention that even with all of that in it, it is not full. At one point, I foolishly put a cup of tea in one of the lined pockets. The tea leaked, but did not get on everything because of the lining. I did wash the bag to be on the safe side, and it came out as beautiful as the day I received it. No fading at all. I love the amount of space this bag provides, and wouldn't trade it for anything. July 15, 2012
Awesome Multi-use tote! I'm a nanny to two young kids (2 and 5) and this is a fabulous everyday bag! I can fit everything they might need during the day in here when we're out and about. Inside there are two plastic lined pockets that are perfect for water bottles and six regular pockets that are perfect for my stuff (i.e. my phone, wallet, etc.) so I can stay organized. In the summer, it also makes an amazing beach bag. I can fit all of our swimsuits and towels, plus some toys and snacks! I'm also a college student, and this is a great bag to fit all my books and my 17'' laptop on a daily basis. Plus, it's great for weekend trips. I can fit everything I need (I always overpack, so that's saying something) and the optional zipper is great for securing your things on a plane or on a road trip. I definietly would recommend this bag to moms, nannies, students and travelers! April 21, 2012
GINORMOUS and GORGEOUS!!!!!! Ok, so I will start off by saying that every review on here stating that this bag is huge is an understatement - this thing is GI-NORMOUS! So now that that's been said I'll say this, it truley is a lovely bag (I got it in safari sunset, gorgeous, gorgeous pattern!) and while at first I considered returning it because of it's size, I'm actuall keeping it for the same reason. I'm going back to school in a couple of weeks and like many other people who have purchased this bag, I'm intending to use it to carry books. I gave it a "test packing" by putting in my 171/2" laptop, 3 100 page notebooks, a manuel that I had laying around the house, my makeup bags, wallet, water bottle, hand lotion, body spray, pens, clip zip id (also vb) and a few other misc. items and still had room for textbooks! It actually didn't look as wide when it was full either, which is a huge plus because I'm short (5' 31/2") and the width of this bag consumes me when it's empty, lol. So in conclusion, would I recommend this as a school bag? This may not be a good answer but yes and no. Yes if you have many books, a large laptop (17" and up) and a lot of personal items or if you work and go to school and have to carry your work clothes AND don't mind carrying something that may be mistaken for a piece of luggage- this would be perfect. I would say no for anyone that's looking for a tote bag for school but doesn't need to carry a lot- especialy young kids because chances are they can fit in this bag, lol! August 15, 2012
