My Prized Commuting Possession
The Miller Bag is my go-to tote for work. I live in Minnesota where at least four months of the year you don’t leave your house without the proper number of layers on. At the height of winter, when I’m decked out in my thickest coat with hat, scarf, snow boots and mittens, it can be cumbersome to carry extra bags or a purse around. With the extra bulk, purse straps don’t fit the same and it is difficult to be aware of dropping things.
Enter the Miller Bag. It’s perfect:
1. The size is quite large – I can fit my VB Lunch Date, coffee travel mug, a purse (usually a VB Frannie), my shoes when I change from my snow boots and often a three-ring binder and a few small manuals for work. These things all fit with plenty of room left over. Should I need to carry more or something heavy, the straps go underneath the bag a continuous loop. So the weight is supported by them and they will never rip away from the bag itself.
2. It zips shut – I can’t emphasize enough how great this is. I know that no matter how dramatically I throw this over my shoulder, nothing is going to fall out.
3. The shoulder straps are roomy and stay in place – even with a bulky winter coat, the Miller Bag is a dream to tote around.
Add the SIX inside and one outside pocket and it doesn’t get any better. If I could made one modification it would be to add a key ring hook in the outside pocket like the Vera tote has, but even without it, I slip my keys and my work badge in there and have had no problems with them potentially falling out. I have this in a pattern that looks great with the two winter coats I wear the most and then match a Frannie to whatever outfit I’m wearing that day. Of all my Veras, this is the one that has gotten the most compliments.

Baggage Check Saver
For my3-4 week trips, I confine luggage to a carry-on and use the Miller bag as my personal item. I love the pockets to organize small items and stuff in my camera and hipster purse. I can still shove the thing under the seat. The Grand Traveler and Weekender will not fit under the seats of the smaller "puddle-jumpers" but I can count on my Miller bag.
VERA BRADLEY NOTE: A couple improvements: I would like a sleeve added to the back and a zippered outside compartment for easy access to medications, etc. I don't trust the existing pocket...things have fallen out of it.

A must have!!!
I absolutely LOVE this bag!!! The miller bag is my favorite Vera Bradley bag and I hope to God that they don't discontinue this bag… ever!!!
I'm a mom of two - 3 yr old & 5 month old - and this bag is a lifesaver. I've tried a few traditional diaper bags and they do not even come close to being functional not to mention beautiful as the miller. The miller is very lightweight, beautifully designed (zips close completely to secure all the items), machine washable & has tons of room. It features 6 pockets inside the bag & a pocket outside which allows me to stay organized. I have many miller bags to use as - a diaper bag, an overnight bag (for my 3 yr old to sleep over at grandparents'), a travel bag for makeups, toiletries & more & a beach bag.
Just as a reference, when I use the miller as a diaper bag for my 5 month old, I can fit - 10 size 3 diapers, a mini wipey case, 3 burp cloths, 7 bibs, VB large cosmetic bag which I fit three 8 oz bottles, thermos & three mini containers to hold formula, 4-5 different toys from a stuffed animal to a sophie, 2 pacifiers, VB changing pad, 3 onesies, a swaddle blanket, mini bottles of lotion, hand sanitizer, sunscreen & chapstick - and I can zip it close with some room left over!!! AMAZING. And just as a side note, this beautiful bag makes packing up for the baby or to travel a bit less painful as my fellow moms will agree.
I just have to say, I LOVE this bag and hope it is not being retired nor was updated as a "Travel tote" which I own as well and like but doesn't quite compare to a miller. I'd really love to purchase the miller in the new gorgeous prints such as flower shower, blue bayou, clementine, african violet & pink swirls. Please make them in those prints!!!
