When the weight of your carry on is important
I'm traveling to Israel in a couple of weeks and only just learned the maximum size of carry ons can't exceed 17 lbs. Since my carry on empty weighs 17 lbs., this created a dilemma.
I searched all over online to find the weight of this bag and the Grand Tote, but to no avail, so with luggage scale in hand, found it at a local store and weighed it . . .1.9 lbs empty. Can't ask for better than that. No problem packing all my necessities and valuables for this flight. I love all the pockets, both inside and out. It will meet my needs perfectly.

Need a Travel Bag? Go for the Grand Traveler!
I debated between the Weekender and the Grand Traveler. Like you I read the reviews on both and am so glad I got the GT first. You'll love either bag! However, I'm an ample packer and have used the Grand Traveler twice now for two different weekend trips. The Weekender would not have been big enough. I also have/love the Grand Cosmetic and it fits in the Grand Traveler along with my clothes - never would have fit in the Weekender. I may get the weekender too at some point as a smaller carry on for plane trips-magazines/snacks/charger cords, etc. but if this is your first bag, go for the bigger one.

Love this bag!
I purchased this bag in Jazzy Blooms about six weeks ago and I love it! I travel fairly often, and this is the perfect size to use as a carry-on. I also spend a couple nights a week at my boyfriend's, and this fits everything I could possibly need for over night, with room to spare! The inside pockets are great for smaller items, such as medicines (the bigger one fits a whole bottle of Nyquil), contacts/glasses, hairbrush, etc., so they don't get lost among clothes or other larger items. And the outer zipper compartment is great for easy access to travel size liquids when flying. Originally, I purchased this in Plum Crazy, but it was stolen and I had to get a new one. I highly recommend this bag!

Great for my travel needs!
I got this bag to add to my large duffel for traveling purposes. I like to have a separate bag for bath essentials, blow dryer, hair products, etc. This bag is perfect for all that plus lots more. This was my second VB purchase and I couldn't be happier with it.

I actually have the old version in Folkloric. I use the bag everyday almost. I recently booked my first flight and I was hoping the weekender could be used as a carryon. According to the reviews I should be good to go. Thanks ladies and Vera Bradley. Keep it coming.

Perfect Carry-On!
I just recently purchased the Weekender in Plum Crazy and I LOVE it! I really needed new carry on luggage and this fit my needs perfectly. I have this big, bulky camera bag and my 15" MacBook Pro and I hated that my camera bag counted as one of my two carry ons. I couldn't fit my bag into any bag I had because it was just too big. I saw the weekender and I thought I could probably squeeze it in. When I brought it home, it fit BOTH my camera bag AND my laptop with room to spare! It was just what I needed that way I didn't have to shove my purse into my suitcase. I was completely pleased with it. Definitely worth it if you're looking to travel in style!

Great weekend bag that is so roomy!
This weekend bag is plenty roomy, with room for 2 jeans, 2 shirts, and extra pockets for an extra pair of shoes. Also hold my folding make up bag tha I purchased from Vera Bradley. I am also going to take the bag on a cruise and I especially like the large opening that will allow it to slip over the handle of a rolling bag. Very pleased with the purchase.

Great for traveling!
I got this for my birthday a few months ago in Ribbons, and I love it! I was debating between the Weekender and the Grand Traveler, but in the end I thought the Traveler was just a little too big to be able to conveniently carry around the airport and carry on the airplane. I definitely think I made the right decision, because the Weekender carries all my stuff and is easy to carry with the strap! I also love how it slips over my suitcase handle, which is great when I'm running around the airport. It easily fits some clothes (not enough for a week vacation, but I pack really heavy), my grand cosmetic bag, and other accessories I need on the plane. Since I bought this, I haven't needed to check a bag. I carry this and a rolling carry on and that's it! It was also great for visiting a friend one weekend (guess that's why it's called the weekender!) and easily held everything I needed for that trip. I don't normally write reviews, but I've been so happy with all the Vera Bradley products I've bought in the last few months that I feel the need to tell everybody else how awesome they are!
