Perfect Travel Bag
I agonized over a bag for our recent trip to Washington, D.C., as it needed to carry all my regular travel needs (wallet, camera, phone, extra batteries), plus a "mom" things like band-aids, as well as emergency medication for seizures, epi-pens, and an inhaler. Knowing that the bag would be searched at many museums and sites, I wanted something smaller than my go-to Large Backpack. This bag fit the bill perfectly.
It holds a lot more than you think it would by looking like it.
It holds a lot without looking like a huge bag.
It stands alone.
Multiple access compartments (front flap with two big slots, big zipper section, small back zipper pocket) allow good organization and easy access.
Can be worn on the shoulder or cross-body; both are comfortable.
iPad fits in the large front-flap pocket.
Main section zips closed for security.
Seldom-used items can be tucked in the bottom, while wallets and phones will stay handy at the top.
I honestly can't think of any. I hadn't expected to like this bag, much less love it as much as I do.

A lot of space in a smaller bag!!
Let me start by saying that I'm a large purse kinda gal. I have been carrying my beloved pleated tote for a long time, but when it was discontinued, I was at a loss for a good bag to carry that had pockets and a zip closure. I first noticed the mailbag in a store, but dismissed it because I thought it was too small for me. Recently I decided to give the mailbag a try. I love it!! The top zip closure keeps my wallet and important things safe, while the pockets under the magnetic flap allow plenty of room for lotions, hand sanitizer, and pretty much anything that I had been carrying in my pleated tote. I carry the change purse and the small cosmetic in those pockets too, and it is also nice to have the zip pocket on the back. While it can be used as a crossbody bag, the strap can also be shortened to carry on your shoulder, which is what I prefer. Over all, I would recommend this bag to anyone wanting to be able to carry many things in a small space and that have been using a larger bag in the past. It provides a nice change also for those of us who feel like they've been in the large purse rut for a long time. It is my new favorite Vera Bradley bag!!

Perfect for Everyday and Travel!
This is my absolute favorite Vera Bradley purse! I took me a while to finally purchase the Mailbag because I thought it would be too big. If you are wavering between the hipster and the mailbag...I say get the mailbag! My original intention was to use it for travel. I choose the simply black because it would match all of my Vera Luggage Sets (Baroque, Suzani, and Portobello Road). I could not be more pleased! I used the bag for the first time about a month ago for a weekend wedding trip. It is so functional and stylish that it is now my every day bag. I love the flip top for easy access and the decent size of the zipper compartment. A note about size and proportion...I am 5'6, size 10 with curves and this bag design does not add "volume" to my figure.
It will hold the following without looking bulky~
Medium Ebook Cover (Kindle Fire HD)
Phone and Kindle Chargers
Small B&B lotion
Small Note Pad
I think the Mailbag should be a staple in your Vera collection...right up there with the Weekender, Grand Traveler and Vera Bag!
