This thing is a beast I got one of these bags when I was a junior in high school for Christmas from my family. I have now just graduated law school and am starting my practice - it's finally time to replace it. In that time, I carried that thing back and forth to college, to my boyfriend's/fiance's house, to Europe, to the gym, to virtually every event in college where I needed changes of clothes - and I was in a bunch of clubs, so I was always hopping from one event to another. I had it with me for every single legal interview, both on campus and off campus, and I even took it with me to the bar exam for 3 days. I can fit easily 4 or 5 days of clothes in it, plus all my make up bags and a couple pairs of shoes, etc. The crazy thing is, the reason I need to finally replace it is because my friend's dog chewed on it and tore a hole in my trusty bag. I was completely crushed - I actually cried. If it hadn't been for that, I wouldn't be looking for a replacement any time soon. As it is, I've fallen in love with the canyon pattern and plan to replace my old (gorgeous) maison blue pattern from nearly 10 years ago. For what it's worth, I have the large cosmetic too, and that was the bag I used every single day for 4 years while in college (and many other times before and after - every. single. trip.), because I didn't have a better place to put my lotions, makeup, etc. in my dorm. It finally developed a tear in the plastic lining, but the outside is still as good as new. It's crazy. If you're thinking about investing in VB, go for it. Find a pattern you love, find bags that fit your lifestyle, and maybe in 10 years it will be time to look again - or maybe not. College kids' luggage probably gets more abuse than the average person's, so I'm thinking I'll probably get 15 years out of my canyon pattern. September 12, 2012

Great for traveling! It is a great bag and it is HUGE! I love it but it does get very very heavy if you fill it all the way. I use it for all my plane rides and I can fit whatever I need: usually my laptop, iPad, book, headphones, a change of clothes, and food! It doesn't have any support at the bottom though, and it is hard to find things in it since there is only one pocket. And even though it is a great bag, it is extremely heavy to carry on your shoulder in the airport. June 11, 2013

love! it! I really wish there was just one inside zipper pocket and this would be my favorite thing of all time. Tons of room, strong straps, nice outside pocket, sturdy seams. I just am always annoyed the inside is a huge blackhole of space, and and inside compartment would increase the value tremendously in my opinion. Must buy for college students, or even young kids for sleepovers because there's plenty of space. June 9, 2013

16 years ago & counting...Be$t money spent! Yep, it's been 16 years that I've had my Forest Duffel. I bought this bag, and all other size duffels (XL I can get in) when I was a junior in high school in '96-'97. Let's just say my parents thought I was crazy, but it was worth the investment. Pick a pattern you like and can see yourself with it in years to come. The size of this bag is huge. The large duffel has been used for weekend trips for 3, a weeks worth of clothes for myself, or clothes for 4 small kids for 5 days. Bag has been checked in the airport and tossed around on car trips over the years, and still in wonderful shape. Clothes, shoes, dolls, lego boxes, movies, pullups, laundry - you name it we've stuffed it in this bag. Color hasn't faded, zippers are still smooth -- I'm serious. The giant pocket on the side is wonderful to toss last minute things we forget to pack or put in magazines, toothbrushes, medicines, or just random small items. I love taking this duffel over my suitcases for it seems to hold more than the typical 26" upright. It fabric just gives and it's easy to move around in a packed trunk. Take the plunge, get all the duffel's, the ditty bag, and travel cosmetic and call yourself done for 20 years. Just bought my 9-year old her first duffel, and I know it's something that will be around for years to come. June 7, 2013

My Best VB Buy I bought the large duffel in Happy Snails a few months ago. I literally use it everytime I go away now. It's a perfect size: big enough to fit my stuff, but small enought to keep me from packing to much! The flexibility helps stuff it into a tight space. It also fit perfectly for plane overhead storage. Like I said: LOVE IT. June 4, 2013

Best Duffel You Will Ever Buy My mom bought this duffel for me to go on sleepovers with at my friends house. The picture online makes it look really small, but in real life, it's HUGE. When I go on sleepovers I can bring my pillow pet, pajamas, a change of clothes, a blanket, and I still have some room left! It is a really great purchase and is very sturdy. I got mine in Plum Petals last year and it still shows no sign of wear. And I use it a lot! It is really great and even has a handy side pocket for easy access to an item ( I usually just put my toothbrush there) All in all it is a fantastic buy. June 1, 2013

Roomy and spacious Got this duffel recently when Vera ran their duffel and blanket combo special and I'm so glad I got it! I bought it in the Tutti Frutti print and it is just so darn adorable. The duffel is huge! We are moving out of state this summer and I can already see this coming in handy. It is a lot roomier than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. Plan on getting a couple more for my daughters for their sports and sleepovers. Do not hesitate to get this - you won't regret it! May 30, 2013

This bag is SOOOOOO much bigger than it looks!! I bought the large duffel along with the Grand Traveler last year as a graduation present to myself. Both bags are amazing, but I was surprised at how much the large duffel holds! I went on a trip to camp for a week and the large duffel held 4 pairs of jeans, 4 or 5 sweatshirts, 2 pairs of pajamas, 2 or 3 pairs of shoes (including boots!), at least 5 long sleeve shirts, and a few belts. I am going on a 13 day trip in June and I have no doubt that it will hold all of the clothes I need, and I don't pack lightly either! The bag is so durable and roomy! A lot of the other reviews say it is good for a 4 or 5 day trip, but it can hold a lot more! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a large, but not bulky looking bag! Perfect for college students! I received this duffle in Slate Blooms almost 2 years ago as a graduation gift from my sister and I love it! It is perfect for when I go home or visit my boyfriend for a weekend. It fits a lot so I don't have to worry about taking two bags when I travel. As a side note, if you're an over-packer like I am, you might have to pack multiple bags when travelling more than a few days. All in all, this duffle is great! April 28, 2013

Great piece for easy traveling! I got this piece for christmas this year and I loved it so much I just ordered another one to have for big trips. Im a junior in college and it can hold a ton of stuff from outfits to make up bags and shoes. There have been a few times I have really stuffed it full and the zipper has always stayed good! The only downside is the fact that it only has one little side pocket that just about fits my hair products. I wish it had one or two smaller pockets on the inside for smaller items. I usually just store things in the small or medium cosmetic bags instead so it works! Overal, A really good sturdy piece! April 27, 2013
