Our stylish Metropolitan bag is organization on the go. Store your laptop (up to 15"*) in the padded sleeve inside, where there is also plenty of room for folders and notebooks. A front compartment holds pens, your ID and small items while a zippered pocket on the back is great for a wallet or planner. For the true jet setter, a rear open slip pocket allows the bag to slide over the handle of your rolling luggage and go along for the ride. *Laptops are measured on a diagonal, from the bottom corner of one side of the screen to the upper corner of the other.

The Signature Collection is made of 100% cotton. We recommend machine washing (cool/gentle cycle) with mild detergent, then air-drying. Do not bleach. Wonderful laptop bag for school!
I was looking for the best type of bag to carry my laptop in around a college campus. My decision on pattern was easy (I'm a huge fan of Happy Snails) but the bag style came down to this or the laptop book bag. Personally I'm a huge fan of shoulder bags so this won, and I absolutely love this bag. It's been so convenient for carrying my laptop around my college campus, and I was pleased with how much I could fit in the bag itself. The outside pockets are very functional as well, I tended to put writing utensils and notecards in them. The laptop pocket might be snug on larger laptops, but I have a 13in MacBook so it fits just fine. I hope this bag isn't being discontinued, because it's one of my favorites. I highly recommend investing in getting yourself this bag, it's worth it. :).

I love this bag!
I have several Vera Bradley totes. One of my favorites is the Go Round tote. I had looked at the Metropolitan bag online a few times and was curious about it. The shape looks a little awkward to me online, but I took a chance and ordered one anyway. I received my bag yesterday and fell in love with it instantly!!! It is not too big or too small, and I really like all of the compartments and roominess of this bag. It is perfect for the working woman that needs to carry a laptop or iPad and files, etc. It's lightweight and with both rolled handles and a strap, it is easy to carry. I think my favorite part of this bag is the front zippered compartment. It opens up to reveal an ID slot, pen/pencils holders, several pockets and another smaller zippered pocket for important items like flash drives or change. The back pocket is ideal for laptop cords or iPad/iPhone chargers. I plan to order this bag in one additional print. I hope it is not discontinued.

Perfect for travel!
So I'm a teenager, and my life pretty much consists of school and sleepovers and very rarely travel. So last summer I went on a trip to Disney World and came back with this beautiful bag! I took it on the plane and the bag fit my 13" Mac Book Pro perfectly! maybe even with a little bit of room to spare. the straps on all Vera products are amazingly comfortable... The two pockets on the size are even better for when i take the bag to sleepovers and i need to fit deodorant, a brush, chargers etc. I'm considering switching this bag as my school bag since it can fit pretty much everything and it will still be painless. Seriously, I'm in love with this bag. i highly recommend it!

Nice size, but I want more pockets!
I love the size of this bag. I'm a VERY light packer, so the Grand Traveler and Weekender are much too big for me. But this was perfect. The only things I would change are: a zipper all the way across the front pocket (I found things starting to nearly slip out), and more slip pockets. I love the bags that have three slip pockets big enough for phone, wallet, and iPod Touch -- those are perfect. In this one, I just have to drop those things into the main compartment. If this gets updated to something the same size, but with more pockets and a zipper for the front, I'll buy it right away!

Perfect laptop bag for travelers
I love this bag. I will be buying it in other colors before it goes away. I don't understand why it is being discontinued. I travel several times a month for business and often carry two laptops. I can fit both laptops, client presentations, note pads, quart-sized zip lock filled with toiletries for quick security checks at the airport, and my Kindle, plus basic purse contents (wallet, brush, makeup, etc...). To top it all off, it slips right over the handle of my suitcase. Best bag ever!

handy bag
I ordered this bag in Safari Sunset, which is beatiful!, and was so excited to get it. I want to take it on a trip I'm going on. I tried to put the rear open slip pocked on the back of the bag over the handle on my luggage and it was just maybe a fourth of an inch too narrow. I was sooooo disappointed. Everything else about the bag was perfect from the handles to all the pockets to put things in. If it had met the requirement for going over the luggage handle I would have kept it. But sadly, I returned it and will look for another suitable bag to take on my trip.

Loving this bag already!
I was so worried about my laptop fitting into this bag! None of the stores near me had the bag in stock for me to test it out. And all of the reviews and videos were for Macs or did not specify what kind of laptop or the measurements. So, I went out on a limb and ordered anyway. I am glad I did! I have an Asus A54C. It is a 15" and the dimensions are 14.75 across the keyboard and 9.75 up the keyboard. With the measurements of the bag being 14 3/4, I was holding my breath. It is definitely a snug fit, and extra half inch would be great, but it is easy enough to get in and out of the laptop sleeve part. When you first get it, you will have to put your hand in the sleeve portion to unroll it (momentary panic attack). The bag is cute, there are tons of pockets, and the long strap is awesome!

Perfect bag for a college student
Love love love this bag! I was debating on whether to get this or a laptop backpack for school but I'm so glad I got this! The good thing about it is it can be a bag for school, or just a regular everyday purse. The laptop compartment is very convenient for a laptop and even an ipad. And there is a lot of room to spare In the main compartment for your wallet, cosmetic case, water bottle, notebooks, textbooks, and lunch! The front pocket is good to store pens and pencils, and other little things like keys, candy, headphones, etc. the main compartment also has two deep pockets for more organization. This bag also seems very ideal for traveling!

The perfect bag if you knit or crochet!
I've been searching for the perfect Vera bag to act as my current project bag for my knitting and crocheting projects for a while now. Previously I had just used an old style baby bag and it worked ok, but it was too bulky. Then I found the Metropolitan and I knew it was the right bag for me once I saw it in store. In the laptop portion I put my pattern books and a folder with printed out patterns, several skeins of yarn and my current project fit next to that in the main compartment, a pencil tin with hooks fit in an inside slip pocket, other essentials fit in the other one, the front gusseted button pocket holds items that I would carry in a purse and wallet so I don't have to carry a separate purse, and the zip pocket on the back is just the right size for needles. All in all I'm VERY pleased with this bag! I own several Vera items and this is hands down my favorite.

Sophisitcated Work Bag
After I purchased my first metropolitan, I was hooked! I now own the bag in 4 different colors - Very Berry Paisley, Mocha Rouge, Simply Violet, and Rhythm and Blues. I'm hoping to get one more in Baroque.
The functionality of the metropolitan is what makes it a great work bag. I like the fact that the laptop section has a tab to secure a computer and there's plenty of inside room to fit files or whatever else one needs to carry in addition to a laptop. The outside zippered section is also great for storing wiriting utencils, ID badges, keys, etc. securely. The bag is easy to carry and manuever due to the double handles and detachable shoulder strap. The metropolitan is truly a sophisticated work bag for the professional woman.
I rated the bag 4 stars because I agree with other reviewers that the inside laptop section is rather snug for a 15" laptop. I use the tabbed laptop section of the bag to store my files and other items and place my laptop in the remaining section- it works. I hope Vera Bradley will revise the bag, keeping the style and sophistication, but making it larger to accommodate larger laptops.
