Not an everyday bag, but...
This bag has a great retro feel. I'm in my 50's and it reminds me of the bags my mom carried in the 60's. I don't consider it an everyday bag. It's a bit "dressier" and I use it to go to luncheons or dinner when I dress up in better than jeans. I also use it to church on Sundays.
It wouldn't hold enough for my everyday needs, but it definitely works for a few hours out when not being casual.
I was able to fit a 16 ounce water bottle, a Zip Clip ID, iphone5 in Otterbox case, tissue packet, comb, keys, sunglasses and small Vera cosmetic bag.
I've got 3 of these bags and get lots of compliments when I use them. (Night and Day, Twirly Birds Pink and Very Berry Paisley.)
All in all, I would recommend this bag if you like to look "ladylike" when going to a show, dinner, church event or other special occasion.

Best as a lunch box
This is a good bag to us as a lunch box if you want something different. I am in middle school and everyone has the same vera Bradley lunch box, I wanted something different and got this. It is really great! It fit a nice amout of stuff and I think that vera Bradley should remake this bag into a lunch box! The only thing it needs is a inside that you can easily wipe down is something spills! Overall great!

Love this bag (with a suggestion)
I purchased and love this bag. It's very different from some Vera bags (of which I have several). the turn closuree and handle are lovely. However, if the shoulder strap could be made adjustable, it would be perfect.

I have my Julia handbag in deco daisy (my team colors) and it is wonderful! It has two nice, deep pockets on the inside and the turn lock is adorable! I have filled it up pretty full and it still looks good. But, there are two downfalls. 1. The strap is an awkward length (I'm 5 foot 3 in.) 2. The back pocket is just kind of "there" it's not in the way or anything, but it doesn't appear to have much of a purpose, so I'm curious as to know why it's there.

I love this style . It is easy to carry and holds a lot without being overly crowded. Can't say enough good about it. :)

I know it's suppose to be a handbag but I use it as a lunchbox I have mine in Boysenberry. It's wonderful and stylish. I put a sandwich, chips, apple, and a water bottle and I even have room for more items!

Pretty classic look
I have received many compliments on this purse. It is perfect for me as I only carry a few things, keys, small coin purse, some makeup, mints, female products and small wallet. If you carry a bunch of stuff this bag is probably not for you. My only complaint is the back outside slip pocket being narrow, it could've been a little bigger. The most it can fit are movie tickets, hotel key, shopping list etc.

To each their own!
Let me just base my disappointments not only on the bag itself but on the reviews the users have given it also. Very deceiving! This bag is beautiful, if only it had usefulness as well. If youre the type to have brunch and only carry a cel, some femenine products, a couple credit cards and maybe travel size items, this is the bag for you. Other than that, it doesnt serve much purpose. If you put anything else inside it, it sponges out and loses its prettiness. The small strap makes it uncomfortable to carry other than to look cute from your car and set on top of a table and the long strap makes it awkward on your side and not long enough to use as a crossbody. The clasp is nice and the fact that it is sturdy and washable is a plus, however a few more inches woudve made it more practical.

Best handbag I ever bought! Three and counting...
I first bought Julia in Viva La Vera, fell in love with it, then bought another in Purple Punch. I wasn't finished yet, so I bought a third in Boysenberry. They are the best handbags I've ever owned. Sturdy, stylish, and colorful. Their hard body construction prevents me from over-stuffing them, so I've streamlined the amount of junk I carry around with me, much to my benefit. And I've had no problem with the fabric bleeding or fading, even after getting caught in three separate rain storms with each bag! I've put a fourth in Very Berry Paisley on my wish list!

Good Luncheon/Dinner Bag
This is a great "ladies who lunch" bag. And that means dinner, also. I got my first Julia awhile back in Blue Rhapsody. Not only is that one of my most favorite patterns, but the colors went perfectly with several of my dressy summer clothes in navy blue and green (navy blue knit dress, pants, top; green jacket and top; all mix and match for home or travel). The Julia bag not only looks very chic with these outfits, it holds everything you need for a dressy lunch or dinner, fits easily on the wrist or arm for going through a buffet line, and stands up on its own at the table, or on the floor by your chair. It also works great for a night out at the theater or the symphony.
I have received many compliments on my Julia, indeed every time I wear it. It adds pop to my outfit and fits the occasion. I just ordered a second one in Night and Day to go with my black summer knits, also for dressy occasions and dinners out, and while travelling. To maintain the structure of the bag while travelling, I stuff it with socks or underwear before packing it in the suitcase. It arrives with me in perfect shape and ready for a night(s) out. And that little slip pocket on the outside is the perfect size for putting symphony or theater tickets into. They are secure en route, and you can get them out without having to open your entire bag. Perfect!!
