Great Lunchbox I know it's suppose to be a handbag but I use it as a lunchbox I have mine in Boysenberry. It's wonderful and stylish. I put a sandwich, chips, apple, and a water bottle and I even have room for more items! May 11, 2013
Pretty classic look I have received many compliments on this purse. It is perfect for me as I only carry a few things, keys, small coin purse, some makeup, mints, female products and small wallet. If you carry a bunch of stuff this bag is probably not for you. My only complaint is the back outside slip pocket being narrow, it could've been a little bigger. The most it can fit are movie tickets, hotel key, shopping list etc. May 1, 2013
To each their own! Let me just base my disappointments not only on the bag itself but on the reviews the users have given it also. Very deceiving! This bag is beautiful, if only it had usefulness as well. If youre the type to have brunch and only carry a cel, some femenine products, a couple credit cards and maybe travel size items, this is the bag for you. Other than that, it doesnt serve much purpose. If you put anything else inside it, it sponges out and loses its prettiness. The small strap makes it uncomfortable to carry other than to look cute from your car and set on top of a table and the long strap makes it awkward on your side and not long enough to use as a crossbody. The clasp is nice and the fact that it is sturdy and washable is a plus, however a few more inches woudve made it more practical. March 23, 2013
Best handbag I ever bought! Three and counting... I first bought Julia in Viva La Vera, fell in love with it, then bought another in Purple Punch. I wasn't finished yet, so I bought a third in Boysenberry. They are the best handbags I've ever owned. Sturdy, stylish, and colorful. Their hard body construction prevents me from over-stuffing them, so I've streamlined the amount of junk I carry around with me, much to my benefit. And I've had no problem with the fabric bleeding or fading, even after getting caught in three separate rain storms with each bag! I've put a fourth in Very Berry Paisley on my wish list! Good Luncheon/Dinner Bag This is a great "ladies who lunch" bag. And that means dinner, also. I got my first Julia awhile back in Blue Rhapsody. Not only is that one of my most favorite patterns, but the colors went perfectly with several of my dressy summer clothes in navy blue and green (navy blue knit dress, pants, top; green jacket and top; all mix and match for home or travel). The Julia bag not only looks very chic with these outfits, it holds everything you need for a dressy lunch or dinner, fits easily on the wrist or arm for going through a buffet line, and stands up on its own at the table, or on the floor by your chair. It also works great for a night out at the theater or the symphony. I have received many compliments on my Julia, indeed every time I wear it. It adds pop to my outfit and fits the occasion. I just ordered a second one in Night and Day to go with my black summer knits, also for dressy occasions and dinners out, and while travelling. To maintain the structure of the bag while travelling, I stuff it with socks or underwear before packing it in the suitcase. It arrives with me in perfect shape and ready for a night(s) out. And that little slip pocket on the outside is the perfect size for putting symphony or theater tickets into. They are secure en route, and you can get them out without having to open your entire bag. Perfect!! November 11, 2012
So cute! My dad and I got this for my mom in Java Blue as a birthday present. It is adorable and fits all of her work items. I really love it and it is worth the price November 8, 2012
Sweet "little" bag This bag is on the smaller side but still holds a ton of things. I carry 2 wallets, the double kisslock and then the coin purse (for rewards cards, etc.), my Kindle with the small E-reader case, sunglasses, a couple of pens, lips gloss, a pill case, the women stuff, and my over-the-top large key ring. EVERY single time I use this purse, I get compliments on the look and it's capacity to hold ALL THAT STUFF! Even the ladies at the local shop for VB were shocked :) yay. I love the structure and how feminine it looks. Snatch these up!!! September 11, 2012
It's called "Julia" but should have my name on it! This is my first Vera Bradley bag and I am in love!! It is a work of art! I love that this style is a little unusual. It's funky and expressive, yet still demure! Very Berry Paisley is PERFECT!! It fits my wallet and my Kindle perfectly. I'm hooked! August 1, 2012
This is the perfect "in between" hand bag. I bought this purse in Symphony in Hue in hopes I could use it for in between a clutch and my usual giant Coach hobo purse. And I wasn't disappointed! When I opened the purse and put in my keys, (I have a pretty huge glob of key chains) cell phone, chapstick, and wallet, everything fit perfectly. It's great. I read reviews that some ladies couldn't fit the top handle strap on their forearm, I can. I'm about 5'7" and about 150lbs, and I can get it about half way up my forearm if I need to. But if I need my hands, I just slip it under my arm. I don't think I'll use the longer strap that comes with it. I've only had this purse a couple of weeks, but when I bring it out I get so many complements on it. It is so feminine and pretty with it's unique shape and turn-lock closure. And, it truly is larger than a clutch and smaller than a normal hand bag. I highly recommend this to those ladies who have a few quick errands to do, or somewhere to go when you need a few things but a clutch won't cut it. I am going to purchase one for my mom, (as soon as she can figure out which pattern she likes best ;) February 7, 2012
Good on paper just not what I expected I ordered the Julia handbag in "Dahlia" and "Barcelona" based on the great reviews and I like it, its a pretty good bag but its just not what I expected. The bag is nice, solid structured, sturdy and otherwise very well built. Please take note that the measurements and dimensions are of the outside of the bag. The inside is obviously a bit smaller. While it is roomy and a hard body bag you cannot stuff it (which is great!) because then it will look like a sandwich i.e. it will have a hump in the middle. It holds everything I need while being roomy but also the boxy interior makes it easy to remember to clean it out regularly. The handle is also a nice touch but it is very short. You can slip your hand in it to hold it that way but if you need your hands free for a moment you can't slide it over your wrist easily much less hold it at the crook of your arm like I would like. Another reviewer mentioned that the strap is long enough to wear as a cross body bag. This is is not true unless maybe you are petite or like your bags to sit high on your waist. A cross body should hit at your hip but if you wear the Julia as a cross body it will sit on your waist and it feels slightly weird. The bags are pretty though, both prints are beautiful and the construction is careful since the placement of the fabric is such that the pattern just sings and perfectly complements the structure. This is a great bag but not what I wanted. I didn't want to return it though but if I had seen it at the store and tried it on I probably wouldn't have bought it nor would I buy it to give as a gift.
