The official Vera Bradley blog

Michelle carries …

Warmer weather means we can finally shed our extra layers and step out for a bit of adventure. We asked Design and Development Assistant, Michelle, from our New York office, to share what she brings along when she goes exploring in her hometown, the Big Apple.

Michelle Carries ...

My name is …

Michelle

I have been at Vera Bradley for …

almost 6 years

I live in …

East Rutherford, NJ

My favorite places to explore are …

All the different New York City museums; The MET, MoMA, The Guggenheim … There are so many, each with its unique style, and I never get tired of them because their exhibits are always changing!

When I go on an adventure, I carry …

The Crosstown Crossbody. It’s always good to have your hands free, especially when riding on the subway, going shopping and even just grabbing a cup of coffee. I do a lot of walking in the city so it’s important to be comfortable.

A feature you might not know about this style is …

I can fit quite a lot in this bag and the pockets are great. Also, I can access what I need quickly without having to dig and the snap closure is helpful for easy access when I’m in a rush.

If you looked inside, you’d find …

A pair of Vera Bradley Sunglasses (Carys), a Campus Double ID where I keep my Metrocard and bus pass, a Small Cosmetic with my makeup and Hair Ties to touch up throughout the day, a Tech Case to protect my digital camera (because you never know what you’ll see or what celebrity you may run into) and my Sleek and Chic Wallet.

If I could describe my style in three words, they would be …

Classic, polished and trendy

The next destination I’d like to explore is …

The High Line, a park that was built on a historic freight rail line that is elevated above the streets of Manhattan. It runs from the Meatpacking District all the way up to West 34th Street. It’s a great time to take a nice walk above the busy streets of NYC and see all the sights!

Searching for large duffel bag, new or used, or returned because it’s not perfect, gift for my 12 year old daughter, who made honors at her school.
