Five, four, three, two, one … happy New Year!
Here at Vera Bradley, we’ve been looking forward to 2014 for some time now. A new beginning. A fresh start. We just can’t wait to get moving.
And that get-up-and-go spirit is exactly what inspired our latest collection for Spring 2014. Yes, the calendar may say January, but we’re already thinking about warmer days and sunshine. Taking off the layers and breaking out the brights. New Spring colors and styles arrive January 9! And this season, it’s all about possibilities — everyday and extraordinary. We’re planning trips, packing picnics and exploring our own backyards. All the while staying colorfully connected.
Catch a little spring fever of your own as we give you a behind-the-scenes look at our spring photo shoot …
Our first stop? A few days out and about in our very own hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana. We started at Headwaters Park, a 30-acre greenway downtown that plays host to some of our favorite springtime festivals and concerts. Then we headed over to the oh-so-beautiful Botanical Conservatory, where spring is (lucky for us) always in bloom. We ended our Fort Wayne tour on one of our favorite streets — Calhoun Street. Nestled in the heart of historic downtown, this area features some of our favorite hotspots and hangouts, including 816 Pint & Slice, where we just had to stop in and have a quick bite (it’s so good!).
Then that weekend, we headed to nearby Lake Gage to spend a few days at the cottage of our Co-founder, Barbara Bradley Baekgaard. The end-of-summer weather (our shoot was in September) was glorious and still warm enough to enjoy everything we love about the lake — lazy days on the water and evenings spent all together around a picture-perfect shore-side bonfire.
After all that relaxation, it was time for a little excitement. We were off to Miami Beach Florida, for a fun-in-the-sun girlfriends’ getaway. And for us, no trip to South Beach is complete without a stay at the legendary Raleigh Hotel. This art deco masterpiece features a private beach and gorgeous pool, and it’s just a short walk from our favorite shopping on Collins Avenue. It’s the perfect spring break locale!
