Our preview of Fall continues with Bittersweet, a nod to the beautiful burnt shades of the season. Vera Bradley’s Trend Reporter, Liz, shares more on this autumn pattern and the simplest ways to incorporate it into your fall wardrobe.

Bittersweet

What inspired it …

“We were picturing organic flowers in fall’s favorite hues: bright red, rusty orange, golden yellow and warm umber. The surprise element is a season-less, black-and-white houndstooth pattern that accents the trim and creates a striking contrast on the inside.”

How to wear it …

“Menswear is being integrated into women’s fashion quite a bit this season. Try a classic, tailored suit look incorporating houndstooth, tweed or camel-colored coats. If you’re feeling particularly bold, a ladylike tuxedo would look great paired with this pattern. Casual black and white, or a leather jacket worn with denim would put you right on trend, as would neutral stripes. When in doubt, a beautiful winter white ensemble or monochromatic red outfit would make the perfect complement. Try punctuating your look with gold and chain-link jewelry, and animal-print accessories.”
