Turn the Town Pink 2012

Turn the Town PinkEach spring, as the Indiana foliage returns to a lush shade of green, volunteers and the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer take to local neighborhoods, parks and businesses to Turn the Town Pink. Handcrafted ribbons – each bearing the name of someone who has endured a battle against breast cancer – are carefully attached to trees and fixtures around the city to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Here are a few candid moments from this past Friday.

Wow! How beautiful! I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will be beginning chemo at the end of the month. I have been anxious about telling my 9 & 10 year old daughters about my upcoming chemo treatment and the loss of my hair during the treatment. I feel inspired about the pink ribbons; perhaps my daughters will want to each tie a pink ribbon in our yard. Are there any instructions for making the ribbons available?
