If you’re a huge fan of Vera Bradley, or maybe even just a somewhat-huge fan of Vera Bradley, there’s a place you can go to celebrate your adoration and be surrounded by folks who feel exactly the same way … and that, our friends, is A Colorful Day.
For this most recent Vera Bradley Experience, we packed up our team and traveled west to gather among the bright lights and desert landscape of Las Vegas. Red Rock Resort set the stage for eight consecutive hours of candid and comedic conversations, surprises, dining and, of course, shopping.
We don’t want to give away everything, but the day began with an impressive breakfast spread (we’re getting hungry just thinking about it), followed by a warm welcome and conversation with Co-founder Barbara Bradley Baekgaard. Next up, a visit with Trend Reporter Liz, of Liz on Location fame, and then an unbelievably moving testimonial from Heidi Floyd, Ambassador for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. (This was the fifth time we’ve heard her story, and we still cried.)
A break for lunch (again, mouths watering), and then it was off for some shopping, prize winning, photo and video shoots, designing and (ahem, ahem) visits to the Social Media Hotspot! That’s right, Inside Stitch friends, we had a “hotspot”.
We can’t tell you how much we enjoyed chatting with all of you about our website, Pinterest, Inside Stitch, Twitter and Facebook. You gave us some wonderful feedback and, hopefully, we were able to heighten your social media confidence at least a smidgen. Thank you so much for stopping by and tweeting with us.
The afternoon brought the Quilted Quiz Hour, a game show where contestants dazzled all of us with their extensive knowledge of all things Vera (seriously, blown away). A wrap up and a special sneak peek brought the festivities, sadly, to a close. Our hope is that each guest left with a few new friends, a handful of new fashions they adore and a heart full of great memories.
Before catching our flight back to the oh-so-flat Midwest the next morning, we just had to venture out into the city for some sight seeing. After all, how often are you in Vegas? We hit the big things: The awe-inspiring fountain at the Bellagio (Those streams of water are almost like dancers in a masterfully-choreographed ballet, aren’t they?), the gondolas at the Venetian, the unbelievable statues at Caesars Palace, Frozen Hot Chocolate at Serendipity III and a super-exciting hunt for the lions at the MGM Grand. We can report, after getting lost in the establishment for 45 minutes, that the lions are no longer at the MGM. Spread the word.
The experience was amazing, but mostly because of the opportunity it afforded us to connect with all of you. A Colorful Day is all about treating yourself and having an amazing experience. We hope you’ll join us when we do it all again October 7, 2012, in Orlando, Florida, at the Loews Portofino Bay.
Until then … viva Las Vegas!
